Something Outshines Even the Sun
Overall Standings
Even though TAAT again left their mark on this Pentathlon, it was no less exciting and fascinating. Even Mr. Spock could not have controlled his emotions anymore. Grogu would have levitated frogs in excitement and Columbo would have had no more questions.
The teams did not take it easy, even on the final day. RKN passed GPUUG, MK passed TC, TFFE passed Chinese Dreams, and BOINCstats passed B^S. This proves again that if you work hard and consistently, you will still be able to attack in the end.
With GPUUG, there was a new team among the participants that could continue to put pressure on their competitors in the future. Returnee SUSA also did well, even though they could not replicate their glory days. Returnee B@P and newcomer PiGyS were also an enrichment and made for exciting cuddle orgies.
But now to the final rankings, as usual with a small comment on each of the top 15. In addition, I list the ranking in the previous year and the rankings in the disciplines in the order Obstacle Run - City Run - Javelin Throw - Sprint - Cross Country in parentheses.
After that, there will be some more statistics.
And now, honor to whom honor is due.
Gold Medal
1st TeAm AnandTech (2-1-1-1-1) – previous year: #1
They won nine disciplines in a row, four of them this year. That says it all. While they won three disciplines by a clear margin, it was a bit closer in the other discipline. Their competitors know that they can be beaten.
Silver Medal
2nd Planet 3DNow! (1-4-3-2-3) – previous year: #2
Again, it is “only” silver for the Green Planet, but this in a clear fashion. Their victory in the Obstacle Run and three more medals show that they are still a force to be reckoned with. In the City Run it looked like they were a bit weaker this year, but now we know that in return they were all the stronger with gold in the Obstacle Run.
Bronze Medal
3rd LinusTechTips_Team (3-2-8-3-5) – previous year: --
They missed out last year and immediately made it onto the podium on their return. What an achievement. Medals in three disciplines resulted in bronze overall. They will still have to make up for the weakness with the javelin, as otherwise other teams might take advantage of this in the future.
4th SETI.Germany (4-5-2-4-6) – previous year: #4
For the fourth time in a row (and for the sixth time in total) they finish in #4. Silver in the Javelin Throw was the light, whereas there was shadow at the City Run and the Cross Country. They lost important points there. Therefore they remain without an overall medal since seven years ago, but at least they won a medal in a discipline every year.
5th [H]ard|OCP (5-7-6-7-4) – previous year: #5
[H] have a firm place among the top of the field. While it was not enough for a medal, it was nevertheless a successful competition for them. However, there is still a bit missing to move further up the overall standings. And they have to be careful in the future, as there are threats from behind…
6th Rechenkraft.net (8-6-4-5-8) – previous year: #7
RKN have been getting better and better for several years now. And so, the scoreboard shows their best ranking ever this year. For a short time, even a medal was within reach in the Javelin Throw, but unfortunately they lacked the power in the end.
7th GPU Users Group (7-3-19-10-2) – previous year: --
As a newcomer, GPUUG made a very good debut. Two podium places are excellent, in particular because the gap to the team ahead was not that big there. The reasons for this not resulting in an even better overall ranking were their poor Javelin Throw performance and their rather mediocre Sprint result. If they manage to be more consistent, even more is possible.
8th Czech National Team (6-8-5-6-7) – previous year: #6
The Czech National Team are also an integral part of the top of the field. However, #8 this year is their worst ranking ever. While this looks like complaining on a high level, it shows that the air is getting thinner up there and CNT have to be careful not to lose contact.
9th L'Alliance Francophone (10-11-9-8-11) – previous year: #9
They confirmed their previous result and achieved consistent individual results in the disciplines. Nevertheless, the Francophones have to watch out. It will be increasingly difficult to maintain the top 10 ranking in the future. They lost contact with the very top for now, but this could be changed next year.
10th Ukraine (13-16-7-9-10) – previous year: #8
Ukraine were not doing quite as well as last year this time. However, they still scored their third-best result ever, so they will be more than satisfied. They were doing very well in the Javelin Throw, unfortunately the City Run did not go quite as well.
11th SETI.USA (9-10-13-13-12) – previous year: --
SUSA were back at it after a few years of abstinence, and just barely missed the top 10. The Americans took a bit to settle in, but then they made decent progress. Only in the Javelin Throw and the Sprint they were a bit weak. If they can fix this, the gap to the very top might close as well.
12th Meisterkuehler.de Team (12-13-11-12-13) – previous year: #15
The cool ones were able to follow up on their good old days this year. After being a surprise package before the start, they performed unusually consistent. There were no outliers up or down, and so they were rewarded with a solid ranking.
13th Team China (11-9-22-15-9) – previous year: #10
Once again, the perennial dark horse cannot live up to expectations. They lost contact to the top and even here the air is getting thinner because of missteps as in the Javelin Throw. The question remains when they will unleash their potential.
14th BOINC.Italy (15-21-12-11-17) – previous year: #11
After the very good result in the previous year, they slipped back down this year. This was not only caused by new competitors who passed them. The misstep in the City Run did not help either and cost them important points. However, the Italians remain a force to be reckoned with in the mid-tier rankings.
15th Overclock.net (16-12-24-14-14) – previous year: #14
A disastrous result in the Javelin Throw deprived OCN of the chance for a better ranking. They lost a lot of points there that could not be compensated for. Apart from that, the team was quite consistent again. However, unfortunately they cannot follow up on better days in the past.

Statistics
Five teams collected individual medals this year, including the a new one with GPUUG. This means that 18 teams collected individual medals so far. P3D won the most (55), ahead of SUSA (35) and SG (34).
Regarding the overall standings, P3D remain at the top with six wins and will continue to do so for at least the next three years. SUSA follow with three wins, while SG, TSBT, and TAAT have two each. LTT became the tenth team to win an overall medal.
Many questions were answered and new ones arise:
- Will TAAT pull off a hat trick?
- Can SG once again win an overall medal?
- Will SUSA regain their former strength?
You see it will be exciting again at the 15th BOINC Pentathlon.

Quelque chose brille même plus que le soleil
Classement général
Même si TAAT a une fois de plus imprimé son empreinte à ce Pentathlon, il n'en était pas moins passionnant et fascinant. Même M. Spock n'aurait pas réussi à contrôler ses émotions, Grogu [NdT: bébé Yoda] aurait fait voler des grenouilles d'enthousiasme et l'inspecteur Columbo n'aurait plus eu de questions.
Même le dernier jour, les équipes n'ont pas coincé la bulle. RKN a doublé GPUUG, MK sont passés devant TC, TFFE a dépassé Chinese Dream et BOINCstats a surclassé B^S. Une fois de plus, cela montre que ceux qui travaillent dur et avec constance peuvent encore attaquer à la fin.
Avec GPUUG, nous avons accueilli une nouvelle équipe qui continuera à mettre les concurrents sous pression à l'avenir. La revenante SUSA s'est bien battue, même si elle n'a pas pu renouer avec sa grande époque. La revenante B@P et la nouvelle PiGyS ont enrichi la compétition et nous ont offert des moments de tendresse captivants.
Mais voici le classement final, comme d'habitude avec un petit commentaire pour les 15 premiers. J'ajoute le classement de l'an dernier et, entre parenthèses, le classement sur les différentes disciplines dans l'ordre suivant: Course d'obstacles-Course urbaine-Lancer de javelot-Sprint-Cross-country.
Et après, il y aura encore quelques statistiques.

Médaille d'Or
1er TeAm AnandTech (2-1-1-1-1) – année précédente: #1
Neuf victoires d'affilée dans les disciplines individuelles, dont quatre cette année. Avec ça, tout est dit. Elle a nettement gagné trois disciplines, mais une fois c'était plus juste. La concurrence sait qu'elle est battable.
Médaille d'Argent
2e Planet 3DNow! (1-4-3-2-3) – année précédente: #2
Une fois de plus, il ne reste "que" l'argent pour la Planète verte, mais sa place est claire et nette. Sa victoire à la Course d'obstacles et trois autres podiums montrent qu'elle reste puissante. À la Course urbaine, il semblait qu'elle ferait défaillance cette année, mais nous savons maintenant que cette faiblesse a été rachetée par une médaille d'or à la Course d'obstacles.
Médaille de Bronze
3e LinusTechTips_Team (3-2-8-3-5) – année précédente: --
Absente l'année dernière et elle monte sur le podium dès son retour. Quelle performance! Trois médailles individuelles lui ont rapporté le bronze au classement général. Il s'agit de rattraper la faiblesse au Lancer de javelot, sinon d'autres équipes pourraient en profiter à l'avenir.
4e SETI.Germany (4-5-2-4-6) – année précédente: #4
Pour la quatrième fois consécutive (et la sixième fois en tout) la 4e place au classement général. La deuxième place au Lancer de javelot était le moment de lumière, mais l'ombre planait sur la Course urbaine et le Cross-country. L'équipe y a laissé des points importants. Ainsi, elle reste sans médaille au général depuis sept ans, mais au moins, elle en a décroché une individuelle cette année.
5e [H]ard|OCP (5-7-6-7-4) – année précédente: #5
[H] a une place fixe dans le peloton de tête. Même si cela n'a pas suffi pour obtenir une médaille, la compétition a été un succès. Il manque pourtant encore un petit chouïa pour pouvoir progresser au classement général. Cependant, il faudra faire attention à l'avenir, car le danger guette à l'arrière…
6e Rechenkraft.net (8-6-4-5-8) – année précédente: #7
Depuis quelques années, RKN ne cesse de s'améliorer. Et c'est ainsi que cette année, le tableau d'affichage indique le meilleur classement de tous les temps. Au Lancer de javelot, une médaille était brièvement à portée de mains, mais à la fin, l'équipe manquait de forces.
7e GPU Users Group (7-3-19-10-2) – année précédente: --
En tant que nouvelle, GPUUG a fait un très bon début. Deux places de podium sont excellentes, surtout que la distance avec les équipes de devant n'était pas très grande. Si elle n'a pas réussi à mieux se classer au général, c'est à cause de son mauvais résultat au Lancer de javelot et du résultat plutôt moyen au Sprint. Si elle arrive à être plus stable, elle pourra aller plus loin.
8e Czech National Team (6-8-5-6-7) – année précédente: #6
L'équipe nationale tchèque fait également partie intégrante du sommet. En revanche, la 8e place cette année est le pire résultat qu'elle ait eu. Cela semble être des lamentations de haut niveau, mais cela montre que l'air se raréfie en haut de l'échelle et que CNT doit faire attention pour rester dans la course.
9e L'Alliance Francophone (10-11-9-8-11) – année précédente: #9
Elle a confirmé sa place de l'an dernier et obtenu des résultats individuels stables. Et pourtant les Francophones doivent faire attention: la place dans le TOP10 sera plus difficile à garder à l'avenir. Actuellement, l'équipe a perdu le contact avec le sommet, mais cela peut changer l'année prochaine.
10e Ukraine (13-16-7-9-10) – année précédente: #8
Cette année, les choses se sont moins bien passées que l'an dernier pour l'Ukraine. Et pourtant, c'est le troisième meilleur résultat jamais obtenu qui s'affiche au tableau. L'équipe peut être plus que satisfaite. Elle s'est très bien battue au Lancer de javelot, malheureusement, la Course urbaine n'était pas optimale.
11e SETI.USA (9-10-13-13-12) – année précédente: --
Après plusieurs années d'abstinence, SUSA était à nouveau au départ et il s'en est fallu de peu pour qu'elle soit dans les 10 meilleures. Les Américains ont eu besoin d'un peu de temps pour trouver leurs marques, mais après ils ont foncé. Ils ont juste eu quelques faiblesses au Lancer de javelot et au Sprint. S'ils arrivent à remédier à ça, ils pourront sûrement combler l'écart qui les sépare de la tête.
12e Meisterkuehler.de Team (12-13-11-12-13) – année précédente: #15
Les gars cool ont pu renouer avec les bons vieux temps cette année. Encore une pochette-surprise avant le départ, ils ont montré des performances inhabituellement stables. Il n'y a pas eu de valeur aberrante vers le haut ou vers le bas, et l'équipe a donc été récompensée par un bon classement.
13e Team China (11-9-22-15-9) – année précédente: #10
Ce bon tuyau permanent ne répond pas non plus aux attentes cette année. L'équipe a perdu le contact avec le sommet, et, avec des ratés tels qu'au Lancer de javelot, l'air risque aussi de se raréfier ici. Il reste la question de savoir quand elle libérera son potentiel.
14e BOINC.Italy (15-21-12-11-17) – année précédente: #11
Après un très bon résultat l'an dernier, l'équipe est descendue cette année. Ce n'était pas seulement la faute des nouveaux concurrents, le raté à la Course urbaine n'a pas aidé non plus et lui a coûté d'importants points. Cependant, les Italiens restent une valeur sûre au centre du terrain.
15e Overclock.net (16-12-24-14-14) – année précédente: #14
Un résultat catastrophique au Javelot a privé OCN de ses chances d'obtenir un meilleur résultat. Elle y a laissé de nombreux points qui lui ont manqué à la fin. Pour le reste, l'équipe est de nouveau très stable. Malheureusement, cela ne suffit pas à renouer avec de meilleurs jours passés.

Statistiques
Cette année, cinq équipes ont récolté des médailles individuelles, dont une nouvelle - GPU. Ainsi, 18 équipes ont collecté des médailles individuelles jusqu'à présent. P3D en a gagné le plus (55), devant SUSA (35) et SG (34).
Au classement général, P3D reste en tête avec six victoires, et cela va durer au moins pour les trois prochaines années. SUSA a remporté 3 médailles et SG, TSBT et TAAT 2 chacune. Avec LTT, une dixième équipe a réussi à s'inscrire sur les listes des médaillées.
Nous avons répondu à beaucoup de questions, mais de nouvelles se posent:
- TAAT réussira-t-elle le triplé?
- SG arrivera-t-elle à nouveau à décrocher une médaille au général?
- SUSA retrouvera-t-elle sa puissance d'antan?

Etwas überstrahlt selbst die Sonne
Gesamtwertung
Auch wenn TAAT wieder diesem Pentathlon den Stempel aufdrückte, war er nicht minder spannend und faszinierend. Selbst Mr. Spock hätte seine Emotionen nicht mehr kontrollieren können. Grogu hätte vor Begeisterung Frösche schweben lassen und Columbo keine Fragen mehr.
Auch am Schlusstag schoben die Teams nicht die ruhige Kugel. RKN schob sich an GPUUG vorbei, MK an TC, TFFE an Chinese Dreams und BOINCstats an B^S. Es zeigt sich wieder, wer hart und konsequent arbeitet, kann auch zum Schluss noch angreifen.
Mit GPUUG haben wir ein neues Team dabei gehabt, das auch in Zukunft die Konkurrenz unter Druck setzt. Auch Rückkehrer SUSA hat sich gut geschlagen, auch wenn man nicht an die Glanzzeiten anschließen konnte. Auch Wiederkehrer B@P und Neuling PiGyS waren eine Bereicherung und sorgten für spannende Kuschelorgien.
Aber nun hier die Endplatzierungen. Wie gewohnt die ersten 15 mit einem kleinen Kommentar versehen. Dazu gibt es die Vorjahresplatzierung und in Klammern die Platzierung bei den Disziplinen in der Reihenfolge Hindernislauf-Stadtlauf-Speerwerfen-Sprint-Querfeldein.
Und danach gibt es wieder etwas Statistik.
Doch nun Ehre, wem Ehre gebührt.
Goldmedaille
1. TeAm AnandTech (2-1-1-1-1) – Vorjahr: #1
Neun Siege in Folge gab es in den Einzeldisziplinen, davon vier in diesem Jahr. Das sagt eigentlich schon alles. Drei Disziplinen gewannen sie klar, aber einmal war es schon knapper. Die Konkurrenz weiß, dass sie schlagbar sind.
Silbermedaille
2. Planet 3DNow! (1-4-3-2-3) – Vorjahr: #2
Wieder bleibt „nur“ der Silberrang für den Grünen Planeten, doch dieser war deutlich. Der Sieg beim Hindernislauf und drei weitere Podiumsplatzierungen zeigen, dass sie weiter eine Macht sind. Beim Stadtlauf schien es noch, als würden sie dieses Jahr schwächeln, doch jetzt wissen wir, dass dies auf der anderen Seite mit Gold beim Hindernislauf erkauft wurde.
Bronzemedaille
3. LinusTechTips_Team (3-2-8-3-5) – Vorjahr: --
Im vergangenen Jahr nicht dabei und bei der Rückkehr gleich aufs Podium. Was für eine Leistung. Drei Einzelmedaillen brachten Bronze in der Gesamtwertung ein. Die Schwäche beim Speer gilt es noch aufzuholen, denn sonst könnten andere Teams dies in Zukunft ausnutzen.
4. SETI.Germany (4-5-2-4-6) – Vorjahr: #4
Zum vierten Mal in Folge (und insgesamt zum sechsten Mal) Platz 4 in der Endabrechnung. Der Silberplatz beim Speerwerfen war das Licht, doch Schatten gab es beim Stadtlauf und Querfeldein. Dort wurden wichtige Punkte liegen gelassen. So bleibt man seit sieben Jahren ohne Gesamtmedaille, aber zumindest holt man sich diese jedes Jahr in den Disziplinen ab.
5. [H]ard|OCP (5-7-6-7-4) – Vorjahr: #5
Einen festen Platz im Vorderfeld hat [H] inne. Auch wenn es nicht für eine Medaille reichte, war es dennoch ein erfolgreicher Wettbewerb. Um in der Gesamtwertung weiter nach vorne zu kommen, fehlt aber noch ein Quäntchen. Für die Zukunft heißt es aber aufpassen, denn von hinten droht Gefahr…
6. Rechenkraft.net (8-6-4-5-8) – Vorjahr: #7
Seit einigen Jahren wird RKN immer besser. Und so steht in diesem Jahr die beste Platzierung ever auf der Anzeigentafel. Beim Speerwerfen war sogar kurz die Medaille greifbar, leider fehlte am Ende dann doch die Kraft.
7. GPU Users Group (7-3-19-10-2) – Vorjahr: --
Als Neuling hat GPUUG ein sehr gutes Debüt hingelegt. Zwei Podiumsplätze sind hervorragend, auch weil der Abstand nach vorne dort nicht sehr groß war. Dass es am Ende nicht für eine bessere Gesamtplatzierung reichte, ist dem schlechten Abschneiden beim Speerwerfen und dem eher mäßigen Ergebnis beim Sprint zu verdanken. Wenn es gelingt, mehr Stabilität zu erreichen, ist auch mehr möglich.
8. Czech National Team (6-8-5-6-7) – Vorjahr: #6
Auch das tschechische Nationalteam ist ein fester Bestandteil der Spitze. Platz 8 in diesem Jahr ist aber das schlechteste Ergebnis überhaupt. Das scheint Jammern auf hohem Niveau zu sein, aber es zeigt, dass die Luft an der Spitze dünner wird und CNT aufpassen muss, den Anschluss zu halten.
9. L'Alliance Francophone (10-11-9-8-11) – Vorjahr: #9
Den Platz des Vorjahres bestätigt und stabile Einzelergebnisse eingefahren. Dennoch müssen die Frankophonen aufpassen. Der Platz in den Top 10 wird in Zukunft schwerer zu halten sein. Aktuell hat man den Kontakt zur Spitze verloren, aber das lässt sich nächstes Jahr ändern.
10. Ukraine (13-16-7-9-10) – Vorjahr: #8
Nicht ganz so gut wie im letzten Jahr lief es dieses Jahr für die Ukraine. Dennoch steht das drittbeste Resultat überhaupt in den Tabellen, man kann also mehr als zufrieden sein. Beim Speerwerfen war man sehr gut unterwegs, leider war der Stadtlauf nicht ganz so optimal.
11. SETI.USA (9-10-13-13-12) – Vorjahr: --
Nach einigen Jahren Abstinenz war SUSA wieder am Start und schaffte es nur knapp nicht unter die besten 10. Die Amerikaner brauchten etwas, um sich einzufinden, doch dann ging es ordentlich vorwärts. Nur beim Speerwerfen und dem Sprint schwächelten sie etwas. Wenn sie das beheben können, lässt sich vielleicht auch die Lücke zur Spitze schließen.
12. Meisterkuehler.de Team (12-13-11-12-13) – Vorjahr: #15
An die guten alten Zeiten konnten die Coolen in diesem Jahr anknüpfen. Vor dem Start eine Wundertüte, zeigten sie sich ungewohnt stabil in den Leistungen. Ausreißer nach oben oder unten fehlten und so wurden sie mit einer guten Platzierung belohnt.
13. Team China (11-9-22-15-9) – Vorjahr: #10
Der ständige Geheimtipp kann auch diesem Jahr den Erwartungen nicht gerecht werden. Den Anschluss an die Spitze haben sie verloren und durch Aussetzer wie beim Speerwerfen droht auch die Luft hier dünn zu werden. Es bleibt weiter die Frage, wann sie ihr Potenzial freisetzen.
14. BOINC.Italy (15-21-12-11-17) – Vorjahr: #11
Nach dem sehr guten Ergebnis im Vorjahr ging es in diesem Jahr zurück. Das lag nicht nur an der neuen Konkurrenz, die vorbeigezogen ist. Auch der Aussetzer beim Stadtlauf war nicht hilfreich und kostete wichtige Punkte. Im Mittelfeld sind die Italiener aber weiter eine feste Größe.
15. Overclock.net (16-12-24-14-14) – Vorjahr: #14
Ein katastrophaler Speer brachte OCN um die Chance auf ein besseres Ergebnis. Hier wurden kräftig Punkte abgegeben, die fehlten. Ansonsten ist das Team wieder recht stabil unterwegs. An frühere, bessere Tage können sie aber leider nicht anschließen.

Statistik
Fünf Teams holten sich in diesem Jahr Einzelmedaillen ab, darunter mit GPUUG ein neues Team. Damit haben bisher 18 Teams Einzelmedaillen eingesammelt. Die meisten hat P3D (55) ercruncht, vor SUSA (35) und SG (34).
In der Gesamtwertung bleibt P3D mit sechs Siegen an der Spitze und das mindestens die nächsten drei Jahre. SUSA folgt mit drei Siegen, und SG, TSBT und TAAT kommen auf jeweils zwei. Mit LTT konnte das sich zehnte Team in die Gesamt-Medaillenliste eintragen.
Es wurden viele Fragen beantwortet und es ergeben sich wieder neue:
- Gelingt TAAT der Hattrick?
- Kann SG mal wieder eine Gesamtmedaille holen?
- Wird SUSA zu alter Kraft zurückfinden?
Ihr seht, es wird wieder spannend beim 15. BOINC Pentathlon.

Final Report – 19 May 2023 – Something Shines in the Sun – Parts 4&5
It is finished. The 14th BOINC Pentathlon is in the books, with some surprises and twists. 30 teams took up the challenge and gambled, fought, and feared. There were celebrations, tears were shed, technology was tortured, and relationships were strained. But it was worth it. Now it is time to celebrate the winners, as usual in two chapters. The first chapter covers the disciplines, and the second chapter about the overall standings will follow in a bit.
Cross Country (Einstein@Home)
Victory goes to TAAT, who left nothing to chance in the final hours. GPUUG wins an excellent silver medal that shines particularly beautiful in the sun for the pentathlon rookies. P3D cross the finish line in third place. Congratulations!
[H] let nothing in their way either and secured #4 ahead of LTT (#5) and SG (#6). The Germans managed to jump ahead of CNT (#7), RKN (#8), and TC (#9) in the final spurt and thus avoided their worst result ever. Behind them, Ukraine finished in #10, as expected.
AF (#11) followed and had SUSA (#12) in tow. The Americans were able to leave OCN (#14) behind, but had to witness how MK rushed in like the desert wind. This won the cooling experts #13, leaving not only OCN, but also EVGA (#15), B@P (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17), and LITOMYSL (#18) behind.
Chinese Dream secured #19 so that TSBT (#20) could not come close. AMD Users failed to catch the Scots in the end, thus remaining in #21. 2ch is in #22, followed by B^S (#23) who managed to keep BOINCstats (#24) at bay.
Russia finishes in #25 after leaving Crystal Dream (#26) with no chance in the final spurt. TFFE (#27), UBT (#28), BC (#29), and PiGyS (#30) calmly coasted to the end of the competition.
Obstacle Run (yoyo@home: only subprojects ECM, ECM P2)
On the demanding long-distance track, there was not too much movement in the end. P3D win this discipline as they did in 2021. TAAT tried everything to maintain their winning streak, but came up short in the end. They will nevertheless be satisfied with silver. Bronze ultimately goes to LTT, who defended their place comfortably. Congratulations!
SG once again took #4 and und kept [H] (#5) behind. CNT (#6) and GPUUG (#7) followed them with a stable gap. RKN had to give it their all in the end and so they managed to defend #8 and leave SUSA (#9) with no chance. Behind them, AF secured #10.
This also was possible because TC (#11) ran out of fuel in the end. MK (#12) tried to take advantage of that, but the gap was a bit too large. Ukraine retained #13, followed by B@P (#14), who at least succeeded in fending off the attack by BOINC.Italy (#15).
OCN (#16), AMD Users (#17), and EVGA (#18) took no more chances. In the end, EVGA had to be careful not to be caught by UBT. The British surged strongly and clinched #19. This was very important for them, as LITOMYSL (#20) put on a lot of pressure as well. The victim of this dynamical duo were Chinese Dream (#21).
BC (#22) could take it easy, but behind them things were not as calm. BOINCstats snatched #23 on the final day by catching TFFE (#24) and TSBT (#25). They were followed by B^S in #26. PiGyS valiantly defended their hard-won #27 until the end, leaving the Pentathlon veteran 2ch (#28) behind them. Further behind, Russia (#29) did not have the energy to attack anymore, which Crystal Dream (#30) tried but unfortunately failed to take advantage of.

Journée Finale – 19/05/2023 – Quelque chose brille au soleil – 4e et 5e partie
Ça y est, c'est fait. Le 14e BOINC Pentathlon fait partie de l'histoire, avec son nombre de surprises et de revirements. 30 équipes ont relevé le défi, ont parié, se sont battues et ont angoissé. Elles ont fait la fête, versé des larmes, fait souffrir leur matériel et mis leurs relations à rude épreuve. Mais cela en valait la peine. Il est temps de fêter les champions. Comme d'habitude en deux parties: la première partie comporte les résultats individuels et la deuxième partie, le classement général, viendra un peu plus tard.
Cross-Country (Einstein@Home)
La victoire va à TAAT qui a brûlé toutes ses réserves au cours des dernières heures. GPUUG remporte une excellente médaille d'argent qui est particulièrement étincelante au soleil pour cette bleue du Pentathlon. La troisième place revient à P3D. Toutes nos félicitations!
À la fin, [H] semblait aussi avoir le feu au derrière et a sécurisé la 4e place, devant LTT (#5) et SG (#6). Dans un sprint final, les Allemands ont réussi à se placer devant CNT (#7), RKN (#8) et TC (#9) et ainsi à échapper à leur pire classement. Comme prévu, l'Ukraine a passé la ligne d'arrivée à la 10e place.
L'AF (#11) est arrivée ensuite avec SUSA (#12) aux trousses. Les Américains ont pu laisser OCN (#14) derrière eux, mais, à la fin, ils ont vu arriver MK en trombe, tel le vent du désert. Celui-ci a porté les Meisterkuehler au rang 13. Ils ont ainsi laissé, non seulement OCN, mais aussi EVGA (#15), B@P (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17) et LITOMYSL (#18) derrière eux.
Chinese Dream a sécurisé la 19e place, de manière à ce que TSBT (#20) ne puisse plus l'atteindre. Finalement, AMD Users n'a pas réussi à se rapprocher des Écossais et il ne lui reste donc que la place 21. Au rang 22, nous trouvons 2ch, suivie par B^S (#23) qui a réussi à garder BOINCstats (#24) à distance.
La place 25 va à Russia, qui n'a laissé aucune chance à Crystal Dream (#26) lors de son sprint final. TFFE (#27), UBT (#28), BC (#29) et PiGyS (#30) ont tranquillement fini la compétition en roue libre.
Course d'obstacles (yoyo@home: uniquement les sous-projets ECM, ECM P2)
L'exigeante piste longue n'a pas apporté beaucoup de changements à la fin. P3D gagne cette compétition, comme en 2021. À la fin, TAAT a encore une fois tout tenté pour maintenir sa série de victoires, en vain. Elle devrait cependant être satisfaite de la médaille d'argent. La médaille de bronze revient finalement à LTT qui a royalement défendu sa place. Toutes nos félicitations!
Une fois de plus, SG a décroché la 4e place et a gardé [H] (#5) derrière elle. CNT (#6) et GPUUG (#7) sont arrivées derrière à une certaine distance. Vers la fin, RKN a une nouvelle fois dû tout donner. Elle a réussi à défendre la 8e place en ne laissant aucune chance à SUSA (#9). Derrière, l'AF a sécurisé la 10e place.
Elle y est arrivée, parce que TC (#11) a manqué de carburant à la fin, ce que MK (#12) ont tenté de mettre à profit. Mais leur retard était un peu trop grand. Il reste la 13e place pour l'Ukraine, suivie par B@P (#14), qui a réussi à bloquer l'attaque de BOINC.Italy (#15).
OCN (#16), AMD Users (#17) et EVGA (#18) ont brûlé leurs réserves. À la fin, EVGA a dû veiller à ne pas se faire prendre par UBT. Les Britanniques sont arrivés toutes voiles dehors et ont décroché la 19e place. C'était vraiment nécessaire, car LITOMYSL (#20) les mettait sous pression. La victime de ce duo dynamique a été Chinese Dream (#21).
BC (#22) a pu se la couler douce, mais derrière il en était tout autrement. Le dernier jour, BOINCstats a chopé la place 23 et donc doublé TFFE (#24) et TSBT (#25). B^S suit au rang 26. Vaillante jusqu'au bout, PiGyS a défendu sa 27e place durement acquise et a ainsi pu laisser le vétéran du Pentathlon 2ch (#28) derrière elle. Russia (#29) n'avait plus la force pour attaquer, chose que Crystal Dream (#30) a tentée, mais n'a pas réussi à faire.

Abschlussbericht – 19.05.2023 – Es glänzt etwas in der Sonne – Part 4&5
Es ist geschafft. Der 14. BOINC Pentathlon ist Geschichte, mit einigen Überraschungen und Wendungen. 30 Teams haben sich der Herausforderung gestellt und haben gepokert, gekämpft und gebangt. Es wurde gefeiert, Tränen vergossen, Technik gequält und Beziehungen strapaziert. Doch das hat sich gelohnt. Es wird Zeit, die Sieger zu feiern. Wie gewohnt in zwei Teilen. Der erste Teil umfasst die Einzelentscheidungen und der zweite Teil, die Gesamtwertung, kommt etwas danach.
Querfeldein (Einstein@Home)
Der Sieg geht an TAAT, die in den letzten Stunden nichts anbrennen ließen. Für GPUUG springt eine hervorragende Silbermedaille heraus, die für den Pentathlon-Rookie besonders schön in der Sonne glänzt. Auf dem dritten Platz geht P3D durchs Ziel. Herzlichen Glückwunsch.
Auch [H] ließ am Ende nichts anbrennen und sicherte #4 ab, vor LTT (#5) und SG (#6). Die Deutschen haben es im Endspurt geschafft, sich vor CNT (#7), RKN (#8) und TC (#9) zu platzieren und damit der schlechtesten Platzierung zu entgehen. Dahinter ging wie erwartet die Ukraine auf #10 durchs Ziel.
AF (#11) folgte und hatte SUSA auf #12 im Schlepptau. Die Amerikaner haben OCN (#14) hinter sich lassen können, mussten aber am Ende miterleben, wie MK heranbrausten wie der Wüstenwind. Dieser brachte die Meisterkuehler auf #13. Somit ließen sie nicht nur OCN, sondern auch EVGA (#15), B@P (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17) und LITOMYSL (#18) hinter sich.
Chinese Dream sicherte #19 ab, so dass TSBT (#20) nicht mehr herankam. An die Schotten schafften es am Ende die AMD Users nicht und so bleibt ihnen #21. Auf #22 finden wir 2ch, gefolgt von B^S (#23), denen es gelang, BOINCstats (#24) auf Distanz zu halten.
Platz 25 geht an Russia, die im Endspurt Crystal Dream (#26) keine Chance ließen. TFFE (#27), UBT (#28), BC (#29) und PiGyS (#30) ließen den Wettbewerb dann in Ruhe austrudeln.
Hindernislauf (yoyo@home: nur die Subprojekte ECM, ECM P2)
Nicht viele Veränderungen gab es auf der anspruchsvollen Langstrecke am Ende. P3D gewinnt diesen Wettbewerb wie 2021. TAAT versuchte am Ende nochmal alles, um die Siegesserie aufrechtzuerhalten, doch vergeblich. Mit Silber werden sie dennoch zufrieden sein. Bronze ging am Ende an LTT, die souverän den Platz verteidigen konnten. Herzlichen Glückwunsch.
SG holte sich mal wieder #4 und hielt [H] (#5) hinter sich. CNT (#6) und GPUUG (#7) folgten hinterdrein in stabilem Abstand. RKN musste zum Schluss noch einmal alles geben und so gelang es ihnen, #8 zu verteidigen und SUSA (#9) keine Chance zu lassen. Dahinter sicherte AF #10 ab.
Dies gelang auch, weil TC (#11) am Ende der Brennstoff ausging, was MK (#12) auszunutzen versuchten. Doch der Rückstand war am Ende etwas zu groß. Für die Ukraine blieb #13, gefolgt von B@P (#14), denen es immerhin gelang den Angriff von BOINC.Italy (#15) abzuwehren.
OCN (#16), AMD Users (#17) und EVGA (#18) ließen nichts mehr anbrennen. Am Ende musste EVGA aufpassen, nicht noch von UBT geschnappt zu werden. Die Briten stürmten kräftig heran und holten sich #19. Das war auch nötig, denn LITOMYSL (#20) machte auch gehörig Druck. Leidtragender dieses dynamischen Duos war Chinese Dream (#21).
BC (#22) konnte es locker angehen lassen, dahinter aber ging es nicht so ruhig zu. BOINCstats schnappte sich am Schlusstag #23 und damit TFFE (#24) und TSBT (#25). Ihnen folgte B^S auf #26. Tapfer bis zum Schluss verteidigten PiGyS den hart erkämpften #27 und konnten so den Pentathlonveteranen 2ch (#28) hinter sich lassen. Dahinter hatte Russia (#29) nicht mehr die Kraft anzugreifen, was Crystal Dream (#30) zu nutzen versuchte, aber leider nicht erreichte.

Day 14 – 18 May 2023 – Now It Counts!
Only a few hours left in the competition. There are no more excuses now. Pick up the pace and keep it up. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Let us check who has the best chances to reap the rewards of success.
Cross Country (Einstein@Home)
What will still happen on the bumpy track? Can GPUUG (#2) still push TAAT off the top? Will there be a showdown here? At least on the Green Planet, things might be a bit more civilized, as #3 should not be in danger. But who knows for sure?
[H] (#4) and LTT (#5) will hardly be able to devastate the Green Planet, but they do not give each other anything. Another couple found themselves behind them. CNT (#6) and RKN (#7) are pushing each other and caught TC (#8) and SG (#9) cold. This would be the worst ranking ever for the Germans. I really hope that the Blue and Yellows will not surrender to their fate in this discipline which they won in 2015 and 2016 after all.
Ukraine (#10) and AF (#11) seem content and can examine the weeds near the track. OCN (#12) and SUSA (#13) have no time for this, as they are fumbling hard as well. Behind them, EVGA (#14) and B@P (#15) seem to just secure their places, which LITOMYSL (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17), and also MK (#18) cannot afford to do. They are having a quick threesome right now.
It remains to be seen whether TSBT (#20) can still push Chinese Dream off #19. At least the chance is there. And maybe AMD Users will still join them, as they probably have secured #21 and are going fast. 2ch should be safe in #22 and can follow the duel between B^S (#23) and BOINCstats (#24) when looking back.
Russia (#25) are doing very well at the moment, leaving Crystal Dream (#26) a bit disillusioned. TFFE (#27) have also hurried up and not only overtaken UBT, but also built a gap. BC can probably look forward to finish in #29, as PiGyS (#30) still have the schnitzel sitting heavy in their stomach.
Obstacle Run (yoyo@home: only subprojects ECM, ECM P2)
Naturally, there is not much movement on the long-distance track at the end, but this does not mean that everything is decided here. In the following, I will take a look at the hot spots.
Yesterday's bonus day narrowed the gap between P3D (#1) and TAAT (#2) again, so a courageous final spurt might well lead to a change. LTT should not be too confident about #3 yet. While SG (#4) and [H] (#5) are already a bit behind, they might still surprise in the infight. It is also still close between RKN (#8), SUSA (#9), and AF (#10), and the duel between TC (#11) and MK (#12) behind them is not decided yet as well.
B@P (#14), BOINC.Italy (#15), and OCN (#16) are still in contention for #14, although OCN should keep an eye on AMD Users (#17) to avoid being caught cold. There is also a three-way fight for #19. Chinese Dream (#19), UBT (#20), and LITOMYSL (#21) are in the running here.
Another threesome is between TFFE (#23), BOINCstats (#24), and TSBT (#25). Do not say that our pentathletes are not willing to experiment. A gang of four has emerged to rumble for #27. PiGyS (#27) currently hold the best cards, followed by 2ch (#28), Russia (#29), and Crystal Dream (#30).
Overall Standings
So there is still movement in both running disciplines that may of course also affect the overall standings. However, gold and silver are decided. It is no longer possible to sneak the medals from TAAT (#1) and P3D (#2). LTT (#3) still have the best chance to win bronze, as SG (#4) are losing too many points.
The battle for #5 is also exciting. [H] cannot be certain of #5, because RKN (#6), CNT (#7), and also GPUUG (#8) are only just behind them. AF seem to secure #9, as do Ukraine secure #10. SUSA (#11) do not appear to be able to attack.
TC (#12) and MK (#13) will probably decide their battle for #12 in the Obstacle Run. Incidentally, this is also true for BOINC.Italy (#14) and OCN (#15). EVGA will probably finish in #15.
AMD Users (#17) and LITOMYSL (#18) are currently tied on points. B@P hold on in #19, only just ahead of Crystal Dream (#20) and TSBT (#21) a little further behind. The difference of only one point illustrates how close it is between Chinese Dream (#22) and TFFE (#23). The Chinese seem to benefit from the final spurt here.

Jour 14 – 18/05/2023 – Maintenant, ça compte!
Plus que quelques heures de compétition. Plus d'excuses. Faire vite et tenir le coup. C'est dans l'adversité qu'on reconnaît les forts. Voyons qui aura les meilleures chances de récolter les fruits du succès.
Cross-Country (Einstein@Home)
Qu'arrivera-t-il encore sur la piste cahoteuse? GPUUG (#2) pourra-t-elle encore détrôner TAAT? Y aura-t-il un affrontement final? Au moins, les choses sont un peu plus civilisées sur la Planète verte: sa 3e place ne devrait pas être en danger. Mais on ne sait jamais, n'est-ce pas?
[H] (#4) et LTT (#5) ont peu de chances de dévaster la Planète verte, mais elles ne se font pas de cadeau. Un autre couple s'est trouvé derrière: CNT (#6) et RKN (#7) se poussent l'une l'autre et ont ainsi pris de court TC (#8) et SG (#9). Pour les Allemands, ce serait le pire classement de tous les temps. J'ose espérer que les Bleu-et-Jaune ne se résigneront pas à leur sort sans se battre dans cette discipline qu'ils ont quand même gagnée en 2015 et 2016.
L'Ukraine (#10) et l'AF (#11) semblent être satisfaites et peuvent inspecter les mauvaises herbes qui bordent la piste. OCN (#12) et SUSA (#13) n'ont pas le temps pour ça, car elles se tripotent bien. Derrière, EVGA (#14) et B@P (#15) semblent sécuriser leurs places, ce que LITOMYSL (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17) et MK (#18) ne devraient pas se permettre. Nous assistons ici à un plan à trois.
TSBT (#20) sera-t-elle encore capable de virer Chinese Dream de la 19e place? Il faut voir. L'opportunité est là en tout cas. Et peut-être qu'AMD Users s'en mêlera aussi; la 21e place semble sûre et l'équipe avance vite. 2ch devrait avoir sécurisé la place 22 et peut suivre le duel entre B^S (#23) et BOINCstats (#24) en regardant derrière elle.
Russia (#25) avance actuellement à bonne vitesse et laisse Crystal Dream (#26) un peu désillusionnée derrière elle. TFFE (#27) a également appuyé sur le champignon et n'a pas seulement doublé UBT, mais l'a aussi laissée sur le bas-côté. À la fin, BC devrait pouvoir se réjouir de la 29e place, car l'escalope pèse encore sur l'estomac de PiGyS (#30).
Course d'obstacles (yoyo@home: uniquement les sous-projets ECM, ECM P2)
Naturellement, il n'y a plus beaucoup de mouvements vers la fin de la piste longue, mais cela ne signifie pas que tout est décidé. Je vais regarder les zones sensibles.
La journée bonus d'hier a rapproché P3D (#1) et TAAT (#2). Un courageux sprint final pourrait bien apporter un changement.
LTT ne devrait pas être certaine d'avoir déjà décroché la 3e place. Certes, SG (#4) et [H] (#5) sont à une certaine distance, mais elles pourraient encore créer la surprise avec leur corps à corps. C'est également serré entre RKN (#8), SUSA (#9) et l'AF (#10), et le duel qui se joue derrière entre TC (#11) et MK (#12) n'est pas décidé non plus.
B@P (#14), BOINC.Italy (#15) et OCN (#16) aspirent encore à la 14e place, sachant qu'OCN devrait garder un œil sur AMD Users (#17). Il ne faudrait pas qu'elle se fasse prendre de court. Une triangulaire se joue aussi pour la 19e place: Chinese Dream (#19), UBT (#20) et LITOMYSL (#21) s'activent ici.
Le prochain plan à trois se joue entre TFFE (#23), BOINCstats (#24) et TSBT (#25). Et qu'on ne vienne pas nous dire que nos Pentathlètes ne sont pas aventureux. Une bande de quatre s'est trouvée pour prendre la place 27. Pour l'heure, PiGyS (#27) a les meilleures chances, suivie par 2ch (#28), Russia (#29) et Crystal Dream (#30).
Classement général
Il y a encore du mouvement dans les deux dernières disciplines, ce qui peut naturellement se répercuter sur le classement général. En revanche, l'or et l'argent sont attribués: impossible de piquer les médailles à TAAT (#1) et P3D (#2). LTT (#3) continue à avoir les meilleures chances de décrocher le bronze, car SG (#4) laisse passer trop de points.
La bagarre pour la 5e place est aussi captivante: [H] ne peut pas être sûre de cette 5e place, car RKN (#6), CNT (#7) et GPUUG (#8) sont juste derrière. L'AF semble sécuriser la 9e place, tout comme l'Ukraine la 10e. SUSA (#11) ne semble pas capable d'attaquer.
La bagarre pour la 12e place devrait se décider à la Course d'obstacles entre TC (#12) et MK (#13). C'est aussi valable pour BOINC.Italy (#14) et OCN (#15). EVGA devrait passer la ligne d'arrivée en 15e position.
Pour l'heure, AMD Users (#17) et LITOMYSL (#18) sont ex æquo. B@P garde la 19e place, de justesse devant Crystal Dream (#20); TSBT (#21) se trouve légèrement en retrait. Un seul point d'écart montre à quel point c'est serré entre Chinese Dream (#22) et TFFE (#23). Le sprint final semble profiter aux Chinois.
Russia (#24) et BC (#25) sont seulement séparées par trois points, ce qui promet également un finish passionnant. 2ch semble être sûre de la 26e place, mais derrière nous trouvons encore un plan à trois: UBT (#27), BOINCstats (#28) et B^S (#29) produisent actuellement pas mal de chaleur de frottement. Nous verrons où ça les mène. Armée de pizzas, de gyros et d'escalopes, PiGyS (#30) savoure le show.

Tag 14 – 18.05.2023 – Jetzt gilt's!
Nur noch wenige Stunden im Wettbewerb. Jetzt gibt es keine Ausreden mehr. Tempo machen und durchhalten. Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten. Mal sehen, wer die besten Chancen hat, die Früchte des Erfolges zu ernten.
Querfeldein (Einstein@Home)
Was passiert auf der Holperstrecke noch? Kann GPUUG (#2) noch TAAT von der Spitze verdrängen? Kommt es hier zum Showdown? Zumindest auf dem Grünen Planeten kann man es etwas gesitteter zugehen lassen, #3 sollte nicht in Gefahr sein. Man weiß ja nie, oder?
[H] (#4) und LTT (#5) werden kaum den Grünen Planeten verwüsten können, geben sich aber gegenseitig nichts. Auch dahinter hat sich ein Pärchen gefunden. CNT (#6) und RKN (#7) puschen sich gegenseitig und haben damit TC (#8) und SG (#9) kalt erwischt. Für die Deutschen wäre das die schlechteste Platzierung aller Zeiten. Ich hoffe doch, dass sich die Blaugelben in dieser Disziplin, die sie immerhin 2015 und 2016 gewonnen haben, nicht kampflos ihrem Schicksal ergeben.
Die Ukraine (#10) und AF (#11) scheinen zufrieden zu sein und können das Unkraut neben der Strecke begutachten. Dafür haben OCN (#12) und SUSA (#13) keine Zeit, auch hier wird kräftig gefummelt. Dahinter scheinen EVGA (#14) und B@P (#15) ihre Plätze abzusichern, was sich dahinter LITOMYSL (#16), BOINC.Italy (#17) und auch MK (#18) nicht leisten sollten. Hier steht gerade ein flotter Dreier auf dem Programm.
Ob TSBT (#20) noch in der Lage ist, Chinese Dream von #19 zu verdrängen, wird sich erweisen. Die Chance dafür ist zumindest da. Und vielleicht mischt da noch AMD Users mit, die #21 wohl sicher haben und schnell unterwegs sind. 2ch sollte #22 abgesichert haben und kann beim Zurückschauen das Duell von B^S (#23) und BOINCstats (#24) verfolgen.
Sehr gut unterwegs derzeit ist Russia (#25), die Crystal Dream (#26) etwas desillusioniert zurücklassen. Auch TFFE (#27) hat auf die Tube gedrückt und UBT nicht nur überholt, sondern auch abgehängt. Am Ende wird sich BC wohl auf #29 freuen dürfen, da PiGyS (#30) das Schnitzel noch schwer im Magen liegt.
Hindernislauf (yoyo@home: nur die Subprojekte ECM, ECM P2)
Auf der Langstrecke ist naturgemäß am Ende nicht mehr viel Bewegung, doch das heißt noch nicht, dass hier alles entschieden ist. Im Folgendem schaue ich mir mal die Brennpunkte an.
Der gestrige Bonustag hat P3D (#1) und TAAT (#2) wieder näher zusammengebracht, sodass ein beherzter Endspurt durchaus noch einen Wechsel bringen kann. LTT sollte sich nicht zu sicher sein, #3 schon eingelaufen zu haben. Zwar sind SG (#4) und [H] (#5) schon etwas zurück, doch im Infight könnten sie auch noch überraschen. Eng ist es auch noch zwischen RKN (#8), SUSA (#9) und AF (#10) und auch das Duell dahinter zwischen TC (#11) und MK (#12) ist noch offen.
Um #14 bewerben sich noch B@P (#14), BOINC.Italy (#15) und OCN (#16), wobei OCN ein Auge auf die AMD Users (#17) haben sollte. Nicht, dass sie kalt erwischt werden. Einen Dreikampf gibt es auch um #19. Hier sind Chinese Dream (#19), UBT (#20) und LITOMYSL (#21) zugange.
Den nächsten Dreier gibt es zwischen TFFE (#23), BOINCstats (#24) und TSBT (#25). Sage niemand, dass unsere Pentathleten nicht experimentierfreudig sind. Eine Viererbande hat sich gefunden, um #27 auszurumpeln. PiGyS (#27) haben derzeit die besten Karten, gefolgt von 2ch (#28), Russia (#29) und Crystal Dream (#30).
Gesamtwertung
Bei beiden laufenden Disziplinen ist also noch Bewegung, was sich natürlich auch auf die Gesamtwertung niederschlagen kann. Gold und Silber sind allerdings vergeben. TAAT (#1) und P3D (#2) sind die Medaillen nicht mehr zu stibitzen. Die beste Chance auf Bronze hat weiter LTT (#3), da SG (#4) zu viele Punkte liegen lässt.
Spannend ist auch der Kampf um #5. [H] kann sich #5 nicht sicher sein, da RKN (#6), CNT (#7) und auch GPUUG (#8) nur knapp dahinter sind. AF scheint dahinter #9 abzusichern, ebenso wie die Ukraine #10. SUSA (#11) scheint nicht in der Lage angreifen zu können.
Der Kampf um #12 wird wohl beim Hindernislauf zwischen TC (#12) und MK (#13) entschieden. Dies trifft übrigens auch auf BOINC.Italy (#14) und OCN (#15) zu. EVGA wird wohl auf #15 durchs Ziel gehen.
Derzeit punktgleich sind AMD Users (#17) und LITOMYSL (#18) platziert. B@P hält #19, nur knapp vor Crystal Dream (#20) und leicht dahinter TSBT (#21). Nur ein Punkt Unterschied zeigt, wie eng es zwischen Chinese Dream (#22) und TFFE (#23) zugeht. Hier scheint den Chinesen der Schlussspurt zugutezukommen.
Russia (#24) und BC (#25) trennen nur drei Punkte, was ebenso ein spannendes Finale verspricht. Dahinter hat 2ch wohl #26 sicher, aber dahinter haben wir wieder einen Dreier. UBT (#27), BOINCstats (#28) und B^S (#29) erzeugen derzeit eine Menge Reibungswärme, mal sehen, wo das hinführt. Mit Pizza, Gyros und Schnitzel bewaffnet genießen PiGyS (#30) die Show.

Day 13 – 17 May 2023 – Let Us Get to the Bacon!
We are in the final hours of the 14th BOINC Pentathlon and this means for the teams that they have to give their all on the last meters. Until tomorrow there is not too much left to accomplish changes. Two disciplines with different profiles are still running. For some teams this offers chances to shine.
Cross Country (Einstein@Home)
TAAT continue to hold the top spot. However, GPUUG keep them under pressure, but this is not yet enough to catch up. In contrast, P3D seem to have secured bronze, as [H] (#4) seems too far behind.
And even farther behind, the medal ship has sailed for LTT (#5), TC (#6), and SG (#7). SG have fought their way past CNT (#8), but they are just too slow. Ukraine (#9) are slowly pulling away from RKN (#10), who in turn manage to keep AF (#11) at bay.
OCN cannot be sure of #12 yet, as SUSA (#13) are catching up rapidly. It remains to be seen whether the Americans can close the gap. They left EVGA behind, who at least managed to pass B@P (#15) and LITOMYSL (#16).
In all this turmoil, BOINC.Italy (#17) are doing their rounds and try to catch LITOMYSL. In doing so, the Italians have to watch out for MK (#18), who made up a lot of ground in the last hours. The victims of this attack were Chinese Dream (#19), TSBT (#20), AMD Users (#21), 2ch (#22), and B^S (#23).
Behind them, BOINCstats (#24) are lying in wait. They have an eye on B^S, but have to keep up their current pace until the end. Crystal Dream are in #25 and lost contact. Russia (#26) might still threaten them from behind, as they are faster.
TFFE have just claimed #27 and pushed UBT down into #28. Let us see if the British fight back. Behind them, BC (#29) and PiGyS (#30) round off the field.
Overall Standings
In the overall standings, it is still TAAT ahead of P3D and LTT. While gold and silver seem to be decided, the battle for bronze is a bit closer. Theoretically, SG (#4) still have the chance to push LTT away from bronze, but would have to catch up significantly in the running disciplines and eben catch LTT. This is called a challenge.
[H] appear relatively safe in #5, in part because GPUUG (#6), RKN (#7), and CNT (#8) have little room to improve. But at least the three are separated by only 5 points, this promises an exciting finish. AF are settled in #9, followed by Ukraine (#10). However, SUSA are not too far behind allerdings and thus have at least a theoretical chance to reach the top 10.
The eagles can console themselves by keeping TC (#12) behind them, and maybe MK (#13) can also annoy the dragons a bit. BOINC.Italy are not yet safe in #14, OCN (#15) are only 4 points behind. However, the friends of pasta can still collect points in both disciplines and secure their ranking.
EVGA (#16) maintain their lead over LITOMYSL (#17), who have passed AMD Users (#18). Behind them is already a large gap. This makes clear that B@P will not get better than #19. And even this is not certain, as Crystal Dream (#20) and TSBT (#21) still have chances.
Chinese Dream and TFFE (#23) will probably fight for #22. It remains to be seen whether Russia (#24) will be able to join them. For them, it could also come down to a fight with BC (#25).
While 2ch are probably safe in #26, it is even tighter than skintight between UBT (#27), B^S (#28), and BOINCstats (#29). Currently, only one single point separates the trio, and this promises us an exciting final phase. PiGyS in #30 round off the field.

Jour 13 – 17/05/2023 – Au travail!
Les dernières heures du 14e BOINC Pentathlon sont arrivées et pour les équipes, il s'agit maintenant de tout donner sur les derniers mètres. Il ne reste pas beaucoup de temps jusqu'à demain pour opérer des changements. Deux disciplines sont encore en cours, chacune avec un profil différent. Cela donne à chaque équipe une chance de briller.
Cross-Country (Einstein@Home)
TAAT se maintient toujours à la place au soleil. Cependant, la pression de GPUUG ne cesse pas, mais elle ne suffit pas encore pour remonter. P3D, en revanche, semble avoir assuré la médaille de bronze: [H] (#4) semble bien trop loin.
Plus loin encore, c'est cuit pour les médailles pour LTT (#5), TC (#6) et SG (#7). SG a dépassé CNT (#8), mais elle est tout simplement trop lente. L'Ukraine (#9) commence lentement à se détacher de RKN (#10), qui arrive à garder l'AF (#11) à distance.
OCN est loin d'être sûre de garder la 12e place, car SUSA (#13) remonte puissamment. Il reste à voir si les Américains arriveront à combler l'écart. En tout cas, ils ont laissé EVGA derrière eux, qui a, pour sa part, réussi à doubler B@P (#15) et LITOMYSL (#16).
Dans tout ce tumulte, BOINC.Italy (#17) fait son tour de piste et tente de se faire LITOMYSL. Mais les Italiens doivent faire attention aux MK (#18) qui ont drôlement progressé au cours des dernières heures. Les victimes de cette attaque étaient Chinese Dream (#19), TSBT (#20), AMD Users (#21), 2ch (#22) et B^S (#23).
Derrière, BOINCstats (#24) est à l'affût: elle a jeté son dévolu sur B^S, mais devra garder son rythme actuel jusqu'au bout. Au rang 25, nous trouvons Crystal Dream qui a perdu tout contact avec les équipes devant elle. Russia (#26) pourrait encore la mettre en danger, car elle avance plus vite.
TFFE vient tout juste de conquérir la 27e place et a repoussé UBT au rang 28. Voyons voir si les Britanniques riposteront. BC (#29) et PiGyS (#30) ferment la marche.
Classement général
TAAT devant P3D et LTT est toujours d'actualité au classement général. Tandis que l'or et l'argent semblent déjà distribués, les choses sont plus serrées pour le bronze. En théorie, SG (#4) peut encore chasser LTT du podium, mais pour cela, elle devrait nettement s'améliorer dans les disciplines en cours, voire rattraper LTT. C'est ce qui s'appelle un défi.
[H] semble assez sûre au rang 5, notamment à cause du manque de progression chez GPUUG (#6), RKN (#7) et CNT (#8). Mais au moins ces trois-là ne sont séparés que par 5 points: ça promet du suspense jusqu'à la ligne d'arrivée. L'AF s'est installée à la 9e place, suivie par l'Ukraine (#10). Par contre, SUSA n'est pas très loin derrière et a au moins une chance théorique d'entrer dans le TOP10.
Les aigles peuvent se consoler parce qu'ils arrivent à laisser TC (#12) derrière eux, et peut-être que MK (#13) peuvent encore titiller le dragon à leur tour. La 14e place n'est pas sûre pour BOINC.Italy: OCN (#15) n'est qu'à 4 points derrière. Toutefois, les amis des pâtes peuvent encore ramasser des points sur les deux disciplines et ainsi sécuriser leur classement.
EVGA (#16) maintient son avance sur LITOMYSL (#17), qui a doublé AMD Users (#18). Derrière, il y a déjà un grand écart. Il est donc clair que B@P n'ira pas plus loin que la 19e place. Et même celle-ci n'est pas sûre, car Crystal Dream (#20) et TSBT (#21) ont encore leurs chances.
Chinese Dream et TFFE (#23) devraient se battre pour la 22e place. Il reste à voir si Russia (#24) pourra encore intervenir à ce niveau. Cela pourrait tout aussi bien donner une bagarre avec BC (#25).
Tandis que 2ch semble être sûre de la 26e place, c'est plus que serré entre UBT (#27), B^S (#28) et BOINCstats (#29). Un petit point sépare ce trio actuellement, ce qui nous promet un final passionnant. PiGyS (#30) ferme la marche.

Tag 13 – 17.05.2023 – Ran an den Speck!
Die finalen Stunden des 14. BOINC Pentathlon laufen und für die Teams heißt es auf den letzten Metern alles zu geben. Bis morgen ist nicht mehr viel Zeit, um noch Veränderungen zu erreichen. Zwei Disziplinen laufen noch, mit unterschiedlichem Profil. Das ergibt Chancen für einzelne Teams zu glänzen.
Querfeldein (Einstein@Home)
TAAT hält sich weiter wacker am Platz an der Sonne. Doch der Druck von GPUUG lässt nicht nach, reicht aber auch noch nicht, um aufzuholen. Dagegen scheint P3D den Bronzerang gesichert zu haben, zu weit weg erscheint [H] (#4).
Und weiter dahinter ist der Medaillenzug für LTT (#5), TC (#6) und SG (#7) abgefahren. SG hat sich an CNT (#8) vorbeigekämpft, ist aber dennoch einfach zu langsam. Die Ukraine (#9) setzt sich langsam von RKN (#10) ab, die es wiederum schaffen, AF (#11) auf Distanz zu halten.
OCN darf sich #12 noch lange nicht sicher sein, denn SUSA (#13) holt kräftig auf. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob es den Amerikanern gelingt, die Lücke zu schließen. Hinter sich gelassen haben sie EVGA, denen es aber gelungen ist, an B@P (#15) und LITOMYSL (#16) vorbeizugehen.
In all dieser Unruhe dreht BOINC.Italy (#17) seine Bahn und versucht, LITOMYSL zu kassieren. Dabei müssen die Italiener auf MK (#18) achten, die in den letzten Stunden gehörig Boden gutgemacht haben. Leidtragende dieses Angriffs waren Chinese Dream (#19), TSBT (#20), AMD Users (#21), 2ch (#22) und B^S (#23).
Dahinter liegen BOINCstats (#24) auf der Lauer. Sie haben ein Auge auf B^S geworfen, müssen aber das aktuelle Tempo bis zum Ende durchhalten. Auf #25 finden wir Crystal Dream, die den Anschluss nach vorne verloren haben. Von hinten könnte Russia (#26) noch gefährlich werden, da diese flotter unterwegs sind.
TFFE hat gerade #27 erkämpft und UBT auf #28 verdrängt. Mal sehen, ob die Briten zurückschlagen. Das Feld schließen dann BC (#29) und PiGyS (#30) ab.
Gesamtwertung
TAAT vor P3D und LTT ist weiterhin der Stand im Gesamtklassement. Während Gold und Silber verteilt scheinen, geht es um Bronze noch etwas knapper zu. Theoretisch hat SG (#4) die Chance, LTT noch vom Bronzerang zu vertreiben, müsste dafür aber in den laufenden Disziplinen deutlich aufholen und LTT gar einholen. Das nennt man eine Herausforderung.
[H] scheint auf #5 recht sicher, auch da GPUUG (#6), RKN (#7) und CNT (#8) die Wachstumschancen fehlen. Aber immerhin trennen die drei nur 5 Punkte, das verspricht Spannung bis zur Ziellinie. AF hat sich auf #9 eingerichtet, gefolgt von der Ukraine (#10). SUSA ist allerdings nur wenig dahinter und hat zumindest eine theoretische Chance auf die Top 10.
Trösten können sich die Adler, da sie auch TC (#12) hinter sich halten, und vielleicht können MK (#13) die Drachen auch noch etwas ärgern. Sicher ist BOINC.Italy auf #14 nicht, OCN (#15) liegt nur 4 Punkte dahinter. Die Freunde der Pasta können aber beiden Disziplinen noch Punkte sammeln und so ihre Platzierung absichern.
EVGA (#16) hält seinen Vorsprung auf LITOMYSL (#17), die wiederum die AMD Users (#18) überholten. Danach klafft schon eine große Lücke. So ist klar, dass es für B@P nicht mehr als #19 geben wird. Und auch das ist nicht sicher, da Crystal Dream (#20) und TSBT (#21) noch Chancen haben.
Um #22 werden wohl Chinese Dream und TFFE (#23) streiten. Ob sich Russia (#24) da noch einbringen kann, bleibt abzuwarten. Es könnte aber auch einen Fight mit BC (#25) hinauslaufen.
Während 2ch #26 wohl sicher hat, geht es zwischen UBT (#27), B^S (#28) und BOINCstats (#29) mehr als nur hauteng zu. Nur ein Pünktchen trennt das Trio derzeit und das verspricht uns eine spannende Schlussphase. PiGyS schließen das Feld mit #30 ab.

Day 12 – 16 May 2023 – Something Shines in the Sun – Part 3
The third discipline has been decided. Slowly, the teams are starting to show signs of exhaustion. The pentathletes have to endure three more days on the obstacle course and the Cross Country track. Neither are easy challenges. But now let us look at the current situation.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
Victory goes to TAAT, marking their eighth win in a row. They made it all clear and distanced their competitors early on. On the final day, P3D secured the silver medal leaving LTT to settle for bronze. This is already the second medal for LTT and they will be more than satisfied with this result. Congratulations!
While SG (#4) had no chance to win a medal anymore, this did not stop them from throwing in everything they had. And so they were able to overtake RKN (#5), CNT (#6), [H] (#7), and AF (#8) in a brilliant final spurt. In addition, RKN was able to valiantly fend off the attack of CNT, which illustrates the strength of the Rechenkrafties this year.
Ukraine (#9) sprinted over the finish line unchallenged. Behind them, however, it was close and exciting. GPUUG took #10 in the final minutes and pushed BOINC.Italy to #11, with the Italians only just managing to finish ahead of MK (#12). The finish photo here did not show only BOINC.Italy and MK. SUSA (#13) was also just a whisker behind and had to concede two places.
For OCN (#14) things seemed to tighten up, but TC (#15) was not able to pull if off in the end. At least the Chinese were able to push TSBT to #16 in another photo finish. The Scots probably ran out of whisky in the end. They were followed by EVGA (#17), and then AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19), and LITOMYSL (#20). These three finished one after the other without really threatening each other.
Russia (#21) crossed the finish line ahead of 2ch (#22) and could see the final spurt of Chinese Dream in their rearview mirror, which won them #23. The victim was BC, who now found themselves in #24. UBT in #25 and BOINCstats in #26 were also watching with interest.
PiGyS secured #27, which they had captured yesterday in the morning. Neither B@P (#28) nor TFFE (#29) nor B^S (#30) were able to respond.

And now for another look at the long-distance track. Things seem to have calmed down here, but there is still one bonus day coming up that might shake up everything once again. Let us take a look at the situation.
P3D are still in the lead, but their gap over TAAT is not insurmountable. LTT (#3) currently have the best chance to win bronze, as [H] (#4) and SG (#5) are busy with each other. CNT (#6) will have a hard time trying to get between them and at the same time have to watch out for GPUUG (#7), who are breathing down their necks.
SUSA (#8) are already well behind and have to watch out like hell for the trio behind them. RKN (#9), TC (#10), and AF (#11) are basically all on the same level. All three may still pose a threat to the Americans.
MK are in #12 and it remains to be seen what is still possible for them. At least their current pace is higher than that of Ukraine (#13) and B@P (#14), who are also having a bit of a skirmish. Behind them, BOINC.Italy are trying to hold on to #15, but they are being unsettled by OCN (#16) and AMD Users (#17).
EVGA can hardly achieve more than #18 and have to watch out for Chinese Dream (#19) who still lie in wait. Behind them, UBT (#20) is a bit in no man's land, as LITOMYSL (#21) and BC (#22) are already a bit far behind. However, there is also some hot action going on between these two.
In skin contact are also TSBT (#23) and TFFE (#24), with B^S (#25) and Russia (#26) observing from a distance. BOINCstats (#27) might need a visual aid for that, but they will rather look in the other direction. The reason: It is also cozy between 2ch (#28) and PiGyS (#29). There, also Crystal Dream (#30) will find their money's worth.
You see, it is still far from over on the long-distance track.

Jour 12 – 16/05/2023 – Quelque chose brille au soleil – 3e partie
La troisième discipline s'est terminée. La fatigue se fait sentir dans les équipes. Les Pentathlètes doivent encore tenir trois jours, et ça sur la piste d'obstacles et le cross-country. Deux défis pas si faciles à relever. Mais regardons la situation actuelle.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
La victoire va à TAAT, qui engrange ainsi la huitième victoire d'affilée. Elle a clarifié la situation très tôt et pris ses distances avec les concurrents. Le dernier jour, P3D a sécurisé la médaille d'argent et LTT doit donc se satisfaire de la médaille de bronze. C'est déjà la deuxième médaille pour LTT et l'équipe en sera sûrement plus que satisfaite. Toutes nos félicitations aux vainqueurs!
Certes, SG (#4) n'avait plus aucune chance de remporter une médaille, mais ça ne l'a pas empêchée de lâcher encore une fois tout ce qu'elle pouvait. Ainsi, elle a réussi à doubler RKN (#5), CNT (#6), [H] (#7) et l'AF (#8) dans un finish éblouissant. De plus, RKN a pu résister à l'attaque de CNT, ce qui démontre la force de cette année des gars et des filles de Rechenkraft.
L'Ukraine (#9) a sprinté sur la ligne d'arrivée sans être inquiétée. Mais derrière, les choses étaient serrées et passionnantes: dans les dernières minutes, GPUUG a décroché la 10e place et repoussé BOINC.Italy au rang 11, qui a franchi la ligne d'arrivée de justesse devant MK (#12). Mais la photo-finish n'a pas seulement montré Italy et MK, SUSA (#13) ne se trouvait qu'à un battement de cils et a dû céder deux places.
La situation paraissait se tendre pour OCN (#14), mais à la fin TC (#15) n'était pas assez puissante. Au moins, la photo-finish suivante a montré que les Chinois ont pu renvoyer TSBT au rang 16. On dirait que les Écossais ont manqué de whisky à la fin. Sont alors arrivées EVGA (#17) et AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19) et LITOMYSL (#20). Les trois dernières ont passé la ligne d'arrivée à la queue leu leu sans vraiment se mettre en danger.
Russia (#21) est arrivée devant 2ch (#22) et a pu voir dans son rétroviseur le sprint final de Chinese Dream, qui l'a amenée à la 23e place. La victime en était BC, qui se retrouve maintenant au rang 24. UBT (#25) et BOINCstats (#26) étaient également des spectateurs intéressés.
PiGyS a sécurisé la 27e place, qu'elle avait conquise hier matin. Ni B@P (#28), ni TFFE (#29), ni B^S (#30) n'ont pu réagir.
Course d'obstacles (yoyo@home: uniquement les sous-projets ECM, ECM P2)
Et maintenant, un autre regard sur la piste longue. Il semblerait que le calme soit revenu, mais il manque encore une journée bonus qui peut à nouveau tout chambouler. Observons la situation.
Pour l'instant, P3D mène encore le peloton, mais son avance sur TAAT n'est pas totalement sûre. LTT (#3) a les meilleures chances de décrocher le bronze, car [H] (#4) et SG (#5) sont occupées l'une avec l'autre. CNT (#6) aura du mal à passer au milieu et doit aussi surveiller GPUUG (#7) qui est sur ses talons.
SUSA (#8) est déjà nettement plus loin et doit faire très attention au trio qui se trouve derrière elle. RKN (#9), TC (#10) et l'AF (#11) progressent quasiment au coude à coude. Toutes les trois peuvent encore mettre en danger les Américains.
Au rang 12, nous trouvons MK et il reste à voir ce qu'il est encore possible de faire. Au moins, sa vitesse actuelle est supérieure à celle de l'Ukraine (#13) et de B@P (#14), qui se livrent également à une petite escarmouche. Derrière, BOINC.Italy se cramponne au rang 15, mais elle est déstabilisée par OCN (#16) et AMD Users (#17).
EVGA peut difficilement faire mieux que la 18e place et doit surveiller Chinese Dream (#19) qui est à l'affût. UBT (#20), derrière, se balade un peu en zone neutre, car LITOMYSL (#21) et BC (#22) sont loin derrière. En revanche, c'est très chaud entre ces deux équipes.
TSBT (#23) et TFFE (#24) sont également au contact, ce que B^S (#25) et Russia (#26) peuvent contempler de loin. BOINCstats (#27) aura peut-être besoin de jumelles pour cela, mais elle regardera plutôt à l'arrière. La raison? Il y a aussi une certaine complicité entre 2ch (#28) et PiGyS (#29). Crystal Dream (#30) y trouve aussi son compte.
Comme vous voyez, la messe est loin d'être dite sur la piste longue.

Tag 12 – 16.05.2023 – Es glänzt etwas in der Sonne – Part 3
Die dritte Entscheidung ist zu Ende gegangen. Langsam ist den Teams die Erschöpfung anzumerken. Drei Tage noch müssen die Pentathleten durchhalten und dies auf dem Hindernisparcours und der Querfeldeinstrecke. Beides nicht ganz einfache Herausforderungen. Doch nun der Blick auf die aktuelle Situation.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
Der Sieg geht an TAAT, die damit den achten Sieg in Folge einfahren. Früh haben sie alles klargemacht und die Konkurrenten distanziert. Am Schlusstag hat P3D die Silbermedaille abgesichert, sodass sich LTT mit Bronze begnügen muss. Für LTT ist dies bereits die zweite Medaille und damit wird man mehr als zufrieden sein. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Eine Chance auf Edelmetall bestand zwar für SG (#4) nicht mehr, doch das hielt sie nicht davon ab, noch einmal alles reinzuwerfen, was ging. Und so konnten in einem fulminanten Endspurt RKN (#5), CNT (#6), [H] (#7) und AF (#8) überholt werden. Dazu konnte sich RKN noch wacker dem Angriff von CNT erwehren, was die diesjährige Stärke der Rechenkraftler verdeutlicht.
Unbedrängt sprintete die Ukraine (#9) durchs Ziel. Dahinter wurde es aber eng und spannend. GPUUG holte in den letzten Minuten #10 und verdrängte so BOINC.Italy auf #11, wobei die Italiener sich nur knapp vor MK (#12) ins Ziel retten konnten. Das Zielfoto zeigte dabei aber nicht nur BOINC.Italy und MK. Auch SUSA (#13) war nur einen Wimpernschlag dahinter und musste zwei Plätze hergeben.
Für OCN (#14) schien es nochmal eng zu werden, doch am Ende reichte es nicht für TC (#15). Zumindest konnten die Chinesen in einem weiteren Fotofinish TSBT auf #16 verweisen. Den Schotten ging am Ende wohl der Whisky aus. Es folgten EVGA (#17) sowie AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19) und LITOMYSL (#20). Die drei kamen hintereinander ins Ziel, ohne sich wirklich zu gefährden.
Russia (#21) kam vor 2ch (#22) ins Ziel und konnte im Rückspiegel den Endspurt von Chinese Dream sehen, der diese auf #23 brachte. Leidtragender war BC, die sich nun auf #24 wiederfanden. UBT auf #25 und BOINCstats auf #26 waren ebenso interessierte Zuschauer.
PiGyS sicherten dann #27 ab, den sie gestern Morgen erobert hatten. Weder B@P (#28) noch TFFE (#29) noch B^S (#30) konnten darauf reagieren.

Und nun wieder einmal ein Blick auf die Langstrecke. Hier scheint Ruhe eingekehrt zu sein, doch noch fehlt ein Bonustag und dieser kann noch einmal alles durcheinander bringen. Schauen wir uns die Situation einmal an.
Noch führt P3D das Feld an, doch absolut sicher ist der Vorsprung auf TAAT nicht. LTT (#3) hat derzeit die besten Chancen auf Bronze, da [H] (#4) und SG (#5) miteinander beschäftigt sind. CNT (#6) wird es schwer haben da noch dazwischen zu stechen und muss gleichzeitig auf GPUUG (#7) aufpassen, die ihnen im Nacken kleben.
SUSA (#8) ist schon deutlich dahinter und muss höllisch auf das Trio dahinter aufpassen. Praktisch auf Augenhöhe sind RKN (#9), TC (#10) und AF (#11) unterwegs. Alle drei können den Amerikanern noch gefährlich werden.
Auf #12 sind MK unterwegs und es bleibt abzuwarten, was hier noch möglich ist. Zumindest ist das aktuelle Tempo höher als das von Ukraine (#13) und B@P (#14), die sich auch beide ein kleines Scharmützel liefern. Dahinter ist BOINC.Italy daran, #15 zu halten, wird aber durch OCN (#16) und AMD Users (#17) verunsichert.
EVGA kann kaum mehr als #18 erreichen und muss auf Chinese Dream (#19) achten, die in Lauerposition verharren. UBT (#20) dahinter ist etwas im Niemandsland unterwegs, da LITOMYSL (#21) und BC (#22) schon etwas weg sind. Allerdings geht es zwischen diesen beiden auch heiß her.
Hautkontakt gibt es auch zwischen TSBT (#23) und TFFE (#24), was sich B^S (#25) und Russia (#26) aus der Distanz anschauen können. BOINCstats (#27) braucht dafür vielleicht schon eine Sehhilfe, wird aber dafür eher zurückschauen. Der Grund: Auch zwischen 2ch (#28) und PiGyS (#29) geht es kuschlig zu. Da kommt dann auch Crystal Dream (#30) auf seine Kosten.
Sie sehen, auf der Langstrecke sind noch lange nicht alle Messen gelesen.

Day 11 – 15 May 2023 – The Hot Phase Begins
This year's pentathlon is rapidly approaching its inevitable conclusion. There are still medals to be awarded in three disciplines, the next ones in just a few hours. Now the teams have to give their all, now there are no more excuses.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
TAAT are clearly in the lead, but it is not clear yet whether P3D (#2) or LTT (#3) will get their hands on silver. The final hours will be crucial here. Behind them, it is only a dead rubber race. RKN (#4), CNT (#5), and SG (#6) are battling for fourth place. Particularly for SG, the points here would be very important.
AF (#7) and [H] (#8) have not yet reached agreement on their places, so the next hours will not be boring here either. For Ukraine, #9 is probably theirs to lose and an attack forward does not seem very promising. Behind them, BOINC.Italy (#10), GPUUG (#11), and SUSA (#12) are fighting for the final top 10 spot with uncertain outcome.
OCN has lost ground in the last hours and now has to worry about #13. TSBT (#14) and maybe even MK (#15) or TC (#16) are still within striking distance. So the next hours could shake up everything here as well.
EVGA will probably sprint to the finish in #17, at least AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19), and LITOMYSL (#20) do not pose much of a threat. However, the latter trio is still fighting for valuable points. Russia in #21 have to keep an eye on 2ch (#22), the gap is still far from insurmountable.
This is also true for Chinese Dream (#23) and BC (#24), and also for UBT (#25) and BOINCstats (#26). PiGyS (#27) have pushed the schnitzel aside and caught B@P (#28), TFFE (#29), and B^S (#30) cold. And maybe they can move up even further. The next hours will tell.
Cross Country (Einstein@Home)
An exciting battle for gold is shaping up on the bumpy track. GPUUG (#1) and TAAT (#2) clash in a battle of the giants, with the other teams just being spectators. P3D have already secured bronze quite well, but the comparably weak performance behind them is puzzling.
[H] (#4) are already quite far behind the Green Planet. LTT in #5 confirms their ambitions to win an overall medal, whereas CNT (#6) and SG (#8) cannot match their greatness of days gone by. And between them, there are TC in #7, but they are going through a weak phase.
Ukraine in #9 are doing very well once again, but RKN (#10) are already on course. AF (#11) will find it difficult to move up further. But they have playmates in OCN (#12). Behind them is a larger gap, which neither LITOMYSL (#13) nor B@P (#14) can close.
Chinese Dream (#15) seem to have a hunger attack right now, and so there is a chance for EVGA (#16) and maybe also for SUSA (#17) and BOINC.Italy (#18) to pass them. TSBT (#19) have lost a lot of ground, but at least they can keep AMD Users (#20), B^S (#21), and 2ch (#22) at bay. There, B^S and 2ch are having a duel, which is pushing them so hard that the AMD users have to watch out.
MK (#23) seem to want to skip this track, leaving BOINCstats (#24) with a chance to score valuable points. Crystal Dream in #25 and UBT in #26 appear relatively safe. Behind them, TFFE (#27) have passed Russia (#28), but both do not have to worry about their chasers. BC (#29) and PiGyS (#30) are unfortunately moving only at a leisurely pace.

Everything is still possible in the Sprint. The gaps are still small and so there may still be a lot of movement in the next hours. We are slowly approaching the grand finale and every point is important. There is also still a lot possible in the Cross Country. Do not be fooled by the gaps, they can be gone quickly.

Jour 11 – 15/05/2023 – La phase cruciale débute
Ce Pentathlon approche à pas de géant de son final irrévocable. Il reste encore à attribuer les médailles dans trois disciplines, la prochaine remise se fera dans quelques heures. Maintenant, les équipes doivent tout donner, il n'y a plus d'excuses.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
TAAT mène clairement le peloton, mais derrière, on ne sait pas encore si P3D (#2) ou LTT (#3) décrochera l'argent. Les dernières heures seront décisives. Derrière, il ne s'agit plus que de décrocher un ananas semblant plaqué or. RKN (#4), CNT (#5) et SG (#6) se battent pour la quatrième place. Ces points seraient très importants, en particulier pour SG.
L'AF (#7) et [H] (#8) ne sont pas non plus d'accord sur la répartition des places, de sorte que l'on ne devrait pas s'ennuyer ici au cours des prochaines heures. La 9e place semble être assurée pour l'Ukraine et une attaque vers l'avant semble peu prometteuse. Derrière, BOINC.Italy (#10), GPUUG (#11) et SUSA (#12) se battent pour la dernière place dans le TOP10. L'issue est incertaine.
Au cours des dernières heures, OCN a perdu du terrain et doit maintenant craindre pour la 13e place. TSBT (#14), voire MK (#15) ou TC (#16), sont encore à portée de tir. Ici aussi, les heures à venir peuvent encore tout chambouler.
EVGA devrait passer la ligne d'arrivée à la 17e place. Au moins, il y a peu de danger émanant d'AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19) et LITOMYSL (#20). En revanche, il s'agit de décrocher de précieux points pour ce dernier trio. Russia (#21) doit garder un œil sur 2ch (#22): l'écart est loin d'être sûr.
C'est aussi valable pour Chinese Dream (#23) et BC (#24), tout comme pour UBT (#25) et BOINCstats (#26). PiGyS (#27) a repoussé son escalope et pris de court B@P (#28), TFFE (#29) et B^S (#30). Peut-être qu'elle arrivera à monter encore un peu plus. Les prochaines heures nous le montreront.
Cross-Country (Einstein@Home)
Une lutte passionnante pour l'or s'annonce sur la piste cahoteuse. GPUUG (#1) et TAAT (#2) se livrent un choc des Titans, que les autres équipes ne peuvent que regarder. Derrière, P3D a déjà bien sécurisé le bronze, mais les performances plutôt faibles que l'on trouve plus bas interrogent.
[H] (#4) a déjà un assez grand retard sur la Planète verte. LTT, au rang 5, confirme ses ambitions de décrocher une médaille au général, tandis que CNT (#6) et SG (#8) n'arrivent pas à renouer avec la grandeur des jours passés. Entre les deux, on retrouve TC à la 7e place, qui a toutefois un coup de mou.
L'Ukraine (#9) progresse à nouveau très bien, sachant que RKN (#10) l'a déjà dans le viseur. L'AF (#11) aura du mal à progresser davantage. Mais elle trouvera des camarades de jeu en OCN (#12). Derrière, il y a déjà un écart plus important que ni LITOMYSL (#13), ni B@P (#14) ne pourront combler.
Chinese Dream (#15) semble faire une pause casse-croûte, ce qui donne une opportunité pour EVGA (#16), peut-être même pour SUSA (#17) et BOINC.Italy (#18). TSBT (#19) a perdu beaucoup de terrain, mais au moins cela suffit pour garder AMD Users (#20), B^S (#21) et 2ch (#22) à distance. En l'occurrence, B^S et 2ch se livrent un duel qui les pousse à un tel point qu'AMD Users doit faire attention.
MK (#23) semblent vouloir faire l'impasse sur cette piste, ce qui pourrait donner une opportunité à BOINCstats (#24) de récupérer de précieux points. Crystal Dream, au rang 25, et UBT, au rang 26, semblent assez en sécurité. Derrière, TFFE (#27) a doublé Russia (#28). En revanche, aucune des deux n'a de souci à se faire par rapport aux poursuivants: BC (#29) et PiGyS (#30) font simplement une promenade.

Le Cross-country aussi nous offre du suspense. Ne vous laissez pas berner par les écarts, ils peuvent rapidement appartenir à l'histoire.

Tag 11 – 15.05.2023 – Die heiße Phase beginnt
Der diesjährige Pentathlon nähert sich mit großen Schritten seinem unwiderruflichen Finale. Noch sind in drei Disziplinen Medaillen zu vergeben, die nächstfolgenden in wenigen Stunden. Jetzt müssen die Teams alles geben, jetzt gibt es keine Ausreden mehr.
Sprint (NumberFields@home)
TAAT führt klar das Feld an, doch dahinter ist noch nicht klar, ob P3D (#2) oder LTT (#3) Silber in den Händen halten wird. Hier kommt es auf die letzten Stunden an. Dahinter geht es nur noch um die scheinvergoldete Ananas. RKN (#4), CNT (#5) und SG (#6) kämpfen um vierten Platz. Gerade für SG wären Punkte hier sehr wichtig.
AF (#7) und [H] (#8) sind sich über die Platzverteilung auch noch nicht einig, sodass die nächsten Stunden auch hier nicht langweilig werden. Der Ukraine ist #9 wohl nicht mehr zu nehmen und eine Attacke nach vorn scheint doch wenig erfolgsversprechend. Dahinter balgen sich BOINC.Italy (#10), GPUUG (#11) und SUSA (#12) um den letzten Platz in den Top 10, Ausgang ungewiss.
OCN hat in den letzten Stunden Boden verloren und muss nun um #13 bangen. TSBT (#14) und vielleicht sogar MK (#15) oder TC (#16) sind noch in Schlagdistanz. Auch hier könnten die nächsten Stunden also alles durcheinander bringen.
EVGA wird wohl auf #17 ins Ziel sprinten, zumindest droht von AMD Users (#18), Crystal Dream (#19) und LITOMYSL (#20) wenig Gefahr. Allerdings geht es bei dem letztgenannten Trio noch um wertvolle Punkte. Russia auf #21 muss ein Auge auf 2ch (#22) haben, der Abstand ist bei weitem noch nicht sicher.
Das trifft auch bei Chinese Dream (#23) und BC (#24) zu, ebenso wie auf UBT (#25) und BOINCstats (#26). Die PiGyS (#27) haben das Schnitzel beiseite geschoben und B@P (#28), TFFE (#29) und B^S (#30) kalt erwischt. Und vielleicht geht es sogar noch weiter nach vorn. Die nächsten Stunden werden es zeigen.
Querfeldein (Einstein@Home)
Auf der Holperstrecke bahnt sich ein spannender Kampf um Gold an. GPUUG (#1) und TAAT (#2) führen den Kampf der Giganten, bei dem die restlichen Teams nur zuschauen können. Dahinter hat P3D den Bronzerang schon gut abgesichert, doch die vergleichbar schwache Performance dahinter gibt Rätsel auf.
[H] (#4) hat schon recht großen Rückstand auf den Grünen Planeten. LTT auf #5 bestätigt seine Ambitionen auf die Gesamtmedaille, während CNT (#6) und SG (#8) nicht an die Größe früherer Tage anschließen können. Und dazwischen findet sich noch TC auf #7, die allerdings eine Schwächephase durchmachen.
Wieder sehr gut unterwegs ist die Ukraine auf #9, wobei RKN (#10) bereits Kurs genommen hat. AF (#11) wird es schwer haben, weiter nach vorne zu kommen. Aber Spielkameraden gibt es ja auch mit OCN (#12). Dahinter klafft eine größere Lücke, welche weder LITOMYSL (#13) noch B@P (#14) schließen können.
Chinese Dream (#15) scheint gerade einen Hungerast zu haben und so ergibt sich eine Chance für EVGA (#16) und vielleicht auch für SUSA (#17) und BOINC.Italy (#18). TSBT (#19) hat kräftig Federn lassen müssen, aber immerhin reicht es, um AMD Users (#20), B^S (#21) und 2ch (#22) auf Distanz zu halten. Dabei liefern sich B^S und 2ch einen Zweikampf, der sie dermaßen anstachelt, dass die AMD-User aufpassen müssen.
MK (#23) scheinen die Strecke links liegen lassen zu wollen und so könnte sich für BOINCstats (#24) die Chance auf wertvolle Punkte ergeben. Recht sicher scheinen Crystal Dream auf #25 und UBT auf #26. Dahinter hat TFFE (#27) Russia (#28) überholt, allerdings müssen sich beide keine Gedanken über die Verfolger machen. BC (#29) und PiGyS (#30) sind im leider nur im Bummeltempo unterwegs.

Beim Sprint ist noch alles möglich. Die Abstände sind noch eng und so können sich in den nächsten Stunden noch zahlreiche Verschiebungen ergeben. Langsam nähern wir uns dem großen Finale und da zählt jeder Punkt. Auch beim Querfeldein ist noch viel drin. Lassen Sie sich nicht durch die Abstände täuschen, die können schnell Geschichte sein.

- Verspielt SG Gesamtbronze beim Querfeldein?
- Greift [H] beim Hindernis noch an?
