sehr schnell ist wieder ist ein Jahr vergangen und es an der Zeit für den gewohnten Newsletter um diese Jahreszeit.

1) BOINC Pentathlon 2023 (5.-19. Mai)

Es ist wieder so weit, ihr wisst schon... oder etwa nicht? Ihr habt es doch wohl nicht vergessen?! Wenn wir euch zu solch einem besonderen Anlass einen Newsletter zusenden, sollte es bei jedem instinktiv Klick machen... und, schon draufgekommen? Falls ja, habt ihr vermutlich bereits entsprechende Vorkehrungen getroffen, sodass ihr euch nun entspannt zurücklehnen und die Ruhe vor dem Sturm genießen könnt.

Genießen bedeutet natürlich nicht, sich gänzlich auf die faule Haut zu legen, denn auch in diesem Jahr gibt es die eine oder andere Überraschung, um für noch mehr Spannung, Abwechslung und Herausforderung zu sorgen. Und falls ihr noch immer nicht wisst, worum es geht, möchten wir hiermit ganz offiziell noch einmal alle alten Hasen und gern auch alle interessierten Küken zur Veranstaltung des Jahres einladen, auf die wir alle so gespannt gewartet haben und als ausrichtendes Team besonders stolz sind: dem BOINC Pentathlon!

Zum vierzehnten Mal versammelt sich alles, was Rang und Namen hat, Groß und Klein, Jung und Alt, zum Teamwettbewerb in fünf Disziplinen bei fünf Projekten. Den ganzen Pentathlon über läuft der Hindernislauf, der sich besonders für diejenigen anbietet, denen die Projektwechsel zu hektisch sind. Das Projekt dafür ist ein alter Bekannter, allerdings erstmals auf nur zwei Subprojekte beschränkt:

Es handelt sich dabei um ein reines CPU-Projekt mit Anwendungen für Windows, Linux und macOS. Allerdings ist der RAM-Bedarf insbesondere bei der ECM P2 sehr hoch (je nach WU-Serie bis 8 GB).

Auch das Projekt für den Stadtlauf vom 8.-13. Mai wurde bereits bekannt gegeben, es handelt sich um das eher für Grafikkarten geeignete PrimeGrid-Subprojekt AP 27. Dafür sind beim Speerwerfen mit dem ersten Wurf am 7. Mai wiederum nur CPUs gefordert, da dafür alle SRBase-Subprojekte außer dem GPU-Subprojekt TF gewertet werden. Wie gewohnt ist keine gesonderte Anmeldung der einzelnen Teilnehmer erforderlich, es genügt, beim jeweiligen Projekt Mitglied von SETI.Germany zu sein. Wir hoffen, dass ihr auch dieses Mal wieder bei einer oder mehreren Disziplinen die eine oder andere WU mit uns cruncht.

Announcement of the 3rd project in the discipline Javelin Throw

The 3rd project of the BOINC Pentathlon in the discipline Javelin Throw is:

Javelin Throw consists of five days in total, but only the third best day of each team is considered for the rankings. The first day of Javelin Throw starts at
07 May 2023, 00:00 (UTC) and ends at

Le 3^e projet du BOINC Pentathlon dans la discipline Lancer de javelot est le suivant:

Remarque: Pour créer un nouveau compte, il faut passer par le site du projet. Le code d'invitation est: pillepalle

Le Lancer de javelot est composé d'un total de cinq jours, mais seul le troisième meilleur jour de chaque équipe décide de son classement. Le premier jour du Lancer de javelot commence le
