Day 4 – 08 May 2023 – New Discipline, New Chance?

The fourth day brings the third challenge for the brave pentathletes. After Obstacle Run and Javelin Throw, the City Run has started today. This is the first of six days on which the teams have to deal with three disciplines at the same time. This requires a clever use of power and thinking ahead.

After our big game hunters made their first kill yesterday, they were probably celebrating too much. The Javelin Throw rankings are off. Therefore, I will leave these hunting grounds and the overall standings aside today.

Obstacle Run (yoyo@home: only subprojects ECM, ECM P2)
Plenty of bonus points were distributed here yesterday, which particularly TAAT (#1) took advantage of. P3D (#2) had to let go a bit, but their basic pace is still higher than TAAT's. This promises to remain an exciting race for the victory.

SG can hold on in #3 for now, but [H] (#4) not only keeps up, but is slowly closing in on the Germans. These seem to be the duels for the medals, since neither CNT (#5) nor LTT (#6) nor even GPUUG (#7) can follow the top quartet.

The room for improvement seems to be limited for RKN (#8) as well. The gap is already pretty big, but at least they keep the birds of SUSA (#9) and AF (#10) at bay. TC (#12) even had to let MK (#11) pass. The bonus day helped the cool ones here.

No less than for teams are currently fighting for #13. B@P has the best cards right now, followed by Ukraine (#14), AMD Users (#15), and BOINC.Italy (#16). However, the Italians are fighting hard to keep contact, while the other three are separated by barely a whisker.

OCN (#17) and EVGA (#18) are running in no man's land. Further duels can be found behind them between Chinese Dream (#19) and LITOMYSL (#20), UBT (#21) and TSBT (#22), BC (#23) and TFFE (#24), and B^S (#25) and Russia (#26). The British apparently recovered from the coronation festivities and made up quite a bit of ground, caught up again with TSBT (#22), leaving another four teams behind in the process.

At the bottom of the field, PiGyS (#27), BOINCstats (#28), Crystal Dream (#29), and 2ch (#30) are stumbling through the world.

City Run (PrimeGrid: only subproject AP 27)
The classic is running since today, the City Run. Here, the organizers have chosen an interesting track this time. TAAT have already laid their claims here, as well, and have taken the lead. Again, P3D (#2) and also GPUUG (#3) got off the ground well, the latter probably being really keen on a medal here in particular.

This is also true for SG in #4, but the competition will be very strong this time. There are also threats from behind, as LTT (#5) and [H] (#6) are only just behind the Germans. The gap behind them is already quite large and it remains to be seen whether this will solidify in the next hours.

On tracks such as this one, TC (#7) and AF (#8) have not performed very strongly yet. This allows AMD Users (#9) and OCN (#10) to keep contact, and RKN (#11) is not far away either. CNT (#12) is still lying in wait.

MK (#13) got off a good start again, but they are put under pressure now by LITOMYSL (#14) and SUSA (#15). Crystal Dream are doing well in #16, and are currently also safe from TSBT (#17) and 2ch (#18).

Ukraine (#19) and BOINC.Italy (#20) are unusually far behind, they do not seem to like the track. This offers a chance for Chinese Dream (#21) and TFFE (#22) to score points, especially because B@P (#23) and EVGA (#24) are also weak.

While Russia secures #25, BC (#26) try to keep the guys and gals of B^S (#27) at a distance. UBT (#28) do not seem to like the track either, but they can beat BOINCstats (#29) and PiGyS (#30).

Overall Standings
A look at the overall standings does not make too much sense because of the problems with the Javelin Throw scoreboard, but maybe a tiny little interim conclusion is possible. TAAT are to be beaten, and P3D is probably the best bet to do so for now. Meanwhile, the battle for bronze is still open. SG have good prospects, but they have to watch out very carefully for [H], LTT, and CNT.

At the moment, SUSA, TSBT, and TC are apparently unable to return to their former glory days. It remains to be seen whether they can shine in a discipline. On the other hand, the mid-tier rankings are as close as we could wish for and guarantee exciting days for us.

This leaves us with a lot of questions:

• Who repairs the statistics?
• Who gambles with the javelin?
• Can GPUUG pull off a big coup at the City Run?

You see it remains exciting at the BOINC Pentathlon.

Jour 4 – 08/05/2023 – Nouvelle discipline, nouvelle chance?

Le quatrième jour apporte le troisième défi aux courageux pentathlètes. Après le marathon d'obstacles et le javelot, c'est le début de la Course urbaine. Il s'agit de la première journée sur six pendant laquelle les équipes devront disputer trois disciplines en même temps. Cela nécessite d'utiliser judicieusement ses forces et d'anticiper les choses.

Après avoir pris leur première proie hier, nos chasseurs de gros gibier ont dû trop faire la fête: les statistiques du Lancer de javelot sont en carafe. Je laisse donc de côté ce terrain de chasse ainsi que le classement général aujourd'hui.

Course d'obstacles (yoyo@home: uniquement les sous-projets ECM, ECM P2)
Pas mal de points bonus ont été distribués ici hier et TAAT (#1) en a particulièrement profité. P3D (#2) a donc dû laisser filer un peu, mais sa vitesse de fond est nettement plus élevée que chez TAAT. Cela promet encore une belle bataille pour la victoire.

SG arrive à se maintenir au rang 3, mais [H] (#4) ne tient pas seulement la cadence, elle se rapproche lentement des Allemands. Les duels pour les médailles semblent ainsi clairs, car ni CNT (#5), ni LTT (#6) et encore moins GPUUG (#7) arrivent à suivre le quatuor de tête.

Les possibilités de progression semblent aussi limitées pour RKN (#8). Son retard est assez conséquent, mais au moins elle arrive à tenir les coureurs de SUSA (#9) et de l'AF (#10) à distance. TC (#12) a même dû laisser passer MK (#11). Les gars cool ont été aidés par la journée bonus.

Quatre équipes se disputent actuellement la 13e place. Pour l'heure, B@P a la meilleure main, suivie par l'Ukraine (#14), AMD Users (#15) et BOINC.Italy (#16), les Italiens se battant pour ne pas perdre le contact. Les trois premières, surtout, ne sont séparées que par un battement de cils.

En zone neutre, nous trouvons OCN (#17) et EVGA (#18). Derrière, nous rencontrons d'autres duels entre Chinese Dream (#19) et LITOMYSL (#20); UBT (#21) et TSBT (#22); BC (#23) et TFFE (#24), ainsi qu'entre B^S (#25) et Russia (#26). Les Britanniques semblent s'être remis des fêtes du couronnement: ils ont bien remonté, rattrapé TSBT (#22) et laissé quatre autres équipes derrière eux.

En queue de peloton, PiGyS (#27), BOINCstats (#28), Crystal Dream (#29) et 2ch (#30) errent à travers le paysage.

Course Urbaine (PrimeGrid: uniquement le sous-projet AP 27)
Depuis aujourd'hui, un classique est au programme: la Course urbaine. Les organisateurs ont choisi une piste intéressante. Ici aussi, TAAT fait déjà valoir ses prétentions et s'est placée en tête. Une fois de plus, P3D (#2) et GPUUG (#3) ont bien démarré, cette dernière semblant être particulièrement avide d'une médaille ici.

C'est aussi le cas de SG au rang 4, mais la concurrence sera très forte cette fois. Et le danger vient également de l'arrière, car LTT (#5) et [H] (#6) ne sont pas loin des Allemands. L'écart qui suit est, quant à lui, assez grand et il reste à voir s'il se stabilise dans les prochaines heures.

Jusqu'à présent, TC (#7) et l'AF (#8) ne se sont pas fait remarquer par une puissance particulière sur de telles pistes. Ainsi, AMD Users (#9) et OCN (#10) peuvent rester au contact, et RKN (#11) n'est pas loin non plus. CNT est en embuscade au rang 12.

MK (#13) ont, une fois de plus, bien démarré, mais ils sont maintenant mis sous pression par LITOMYSL (#14) et SUSA (#15). Crystal Dream (#16) est en bonne position et, pour l'heure, à l'abri de TSBT (#17) et 2ch (#18).

Nous retrouvons l'Ukraine (#19) et BOINC.Italy (#20) à des places inhabituellement basses du classement; la piste semble ne pas leur plaire. C'est une opportunité pour Chinese Dream (#21) et TFFE (#22) de marquer des points, notamment parce que B@P (#23) et EVGA (#24) sont également faiblardes.

Tandis que Russia assure la 25e place, BC (#26) tente de garder les gars et les filles de B^S (#27) à distance. UBT (#28) ne semble pas vraiment accrocher avec la piste, mais elle arrive à battre BOINCstats (#29) et PiGyS (#30).

Classement général
En raison des problèmes du tableau d'affichage du javelot, ça n'a pas de sens de regarder le classement général, mais on peut quand même tirer une mini-conclusion intermédiaire: il s'agit de battre TAAT, chose dont P3D semble actuellement la plus capable. En revanche, la bataille pour le bronze n'est pas encore décidée: SG a de bonnes chances, mais elle doit faire hyper-gaffe à [H], LTT et CNT.

Pour l'heure, SUSA, TSBT et TC ne semblent pas pouvoir renouer avec les pages glorieuses de leur histoire. Reste à voir si elles pourront briller dans une discipline individuelle. Le centre du peloton, en revanche, est aussi resserré qu'on peut en rêver et nous assurera encore des journées palpitantes.

Cela suscite encore de nombreuses questions:

• Qui réparera les statistiques?
• Qui joue encore au poker au javelot?
• GPUUG peut-elle réussir un grand coup à la Course urbaine?

Tag 4 – 08.05.2023 – Neue Disziplin, neues Glück?

Der vierte Tag bringt den wackeren Pentathleten die dritte Herausforderung. Nach Hindernislauf und Speerwerfen geht seit heute der Stadtlauf los. Der erste von sechs Tagen, an denen sich die Teams an einem Tag mit drei Disziplinen beschäftigen müssen. Das bedarf klugen Krafteinsatzes und vorausschauenden Denkens.

Nachdem unsere Großwildjäger gestern erste Beute gemacht haben, wurde wohl zu viel gefeiert. Die Statistik beim Speer liegt quer. Daher lasse ich diese Jagdgründe und die Gesamtwertung heute mal links liegen.

Hindernislauf (yoyo@home: nur die Subprojekte ECM, ECM P2)
Hier wurden gestern ordentlich Bonuspunkte verteilt, was TAAT (#1) besonders nutzte. P3D (#2) musste deshalb etwas abreißen lassen, doch das Grundtempo ist weiter höher als bei TAAT. Das verspricht weiter einen spannenden Wettkampf um den Sieg.

SG kann derzeit #3 halten, doch [H] (#4) hält nicht nur mit, sondern robbt sich langsam an die Deutschen heran. Somit scheinen die Duelle um Edelmetall klar zu sein. Denn weder CNT (#5) noch LTT (#6) oder gar GPUUG (#7) können dem Spitzenquartett folgen.

Auch für RKN (#8) sind die Möglichkeiten nach vorn wohl begrenzt. Der Rückstand ist schon heftig, aber zumindest hält man sich die Flieger von SUSA (#9) und AF (#10) vom Leib. TC (#12) musste jetzt sogar MK (#11) passieren lassen. Den Coolen half dabei der Bonustag.

Gleich vier Teams balgen sich derzeit um #13. B@P hat derzeit die besten Karten, gefolgt von Ukraine (#14), AMD Users (#15) und BOINC.Italy (#16), wobei die Italiener sich dagegen wehren, den Anschluss zu verlieren. Gerade die ersten drei trennt derzeit nur ein Wimpernschlag.

Im Niemandsland unterwegs sind OCN (#17) und EVGA (#18). Weitere Duelle finden wir dahinter mit Chinese Dream (#19) und LITOMYSL (#20); UBT (#21) und TSBT (#22); BC (#23) und TFFE (#24) bzw. B^S (#25) und Russia (#26). Die Briten haben sich wohl von den Krönungsfeierlichkeiten erholt und haben ganz kräftig aufgeholt, TSBT (#22) wieder eingeholt und dabei weitere vier Teams hinter sich gelassen.

Am Ende des Feldes stolpern PiGyS (#27), BOINCstats (#28), Crystal Dream (#29) und 2ch (#30) durch die Welt.

Stadtlauf (PrimeGrid: nur das Subprojekt AP 27)
Seit heute steht der Klassiker auf dem Programm, der Stadtlauf. Wobei sich die Organisatoren eine interessante Strecke ausgesucht haben. Auch hier hat TAAT seine Ansprüche bereits angemeldet und sich an die Spitze gesetzt. Wieder gut aus den Pötten gekommen sind P3D (#2) und auch GPUUG (#3), die wohl gerade hier so richtig spitz auf Edelmetall sind.

Das ist auch SG auf #4, doch die Konkurrenz wird dieses Mal sehr stark sein. Wobei auch von hinten Gefahr droht, denn LTT (#5) und [H] (#6) sind nur kurz hinter den Deutschen. Die Lücke dahinter ist dann schon recht groß und es bleibt abzuwarten, ob sich dies in den nächsten Stunden verfestigt.

TC (#7) und AF (#8) sind auf derartigen Strecken bisher nicht durch große Kraft aufgefallen. So können AMD Users (#9) und OCN (#10) dranbleiben und auch RKN (#11) ist nicht weit weg. Noch auf der Lauer liegt CNT auf #12.

Wieder gut gestartet sind die Meisterkühler (#13), sie werden aber nun von LITOMYSL (#14) und SUSA (#15) unter Druck gesetzt. Crystal Dream ist mit #16 gut unterwegs und ist derzeit auch vor TSBT (#17) und 2ch (#18) sicher.

Ungewohnt weit hinten sind die Ukraine (#19) und BOINC.Italy (#20) zu finden, ihnen scheint die Strecke nicht zu schmecken. Das ist eine Chance für Chinese Dream (#21) und TFFE (#22), Punkte zu sammeln, vor allem weil B@P (#23) und EVGA (#24) ebenso schwächeln.

Während Russia #25 sichert, versucht BC (#26) die Jungs und Mädels von B^S (#27) auf Distanz zu halten. Auch UBT (#28) scheint sich nicht so richtig mit der Strecke anzufreunden, kann aber BOINCstats (#29) und PiGyS (#30) schlagen.

Gesamtwertung
Ein Blick auf die Gesamtwertung macht wegen der Schwierigkeiten auf der Anzeigentafel beim Speer keinen Sinn, aber ein kleines Mini-Zwischenfazit lässt es wohl zu. TAAT gilt es zu schlagen, was derzeit P3D wohl am besten zugetraut werden kann. Dagegen ist der Kampf um Bronze noch offen. SG hat gute Chancen, muss aber höllisch auf [H], LTT und CNT aufpassen.

Aktuell scheinen SUSA, TSBT und TC nicht an alte, glorreiche Zeiten anknüpfen zu können. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob sie in einer Einzeldisziplin glänzen können. Das Mittelfeld dagegen ist so eng wie wir es uns nur wünschen können und garantiert uns spannende Tage.

Das lässt noch viele Fragen aufkommen:

• Wer repariert die Statistik?
• Wer pokert noch beim Speer?
• Kann GPUUG beim Stadtlauf der große Coup gelingen?
